Yup. they are gonna suck it up, Nowitzki has been on a serious decline this yr and the spurs aren't getting any younger, but next yr is an odd year so they still have a shot at it Rockets to dominate the triangle!!!
Already commented that I don't think this is a good match. Carlisle knows his stuff but I don't think he fits the Mavs organization. The one thing he will bring that Avery Johnson didn't was clear direction on what he wants the players to do. There will be more purpose on offense and less one-on-one free-lancing. Carlisle should have gone to the Sonics and replaced P.J. Carlesimo, who should be fired.

If the mavs thought Avery was controlling the offense too much sometimes, then I don't understand this hiring. Carlisle is known to be a micromanager and likes to call the plays everytime on offense. I wonder how Kidd will take to that, who was mainly responsible for getting Byron Scott fired in New jersey.
Kidd ccouldn't get along with Byron Scott, Scott Skiles, and Lawrence Frank. Carlisle and Kidd are going be at each other's throats by Christmas. Mavs self-destruct again.
The Mavs certainly will retool their roster this summer. The Kidd thing is overrated. Kidd is on his last year of contract and will be a good trade chip next season. So, if the Mavs wont work with Kidd in the 1st half next season, Kidd will be gone by trade deadline. Also, Josh Howard is totally tradeable. The good thing about Cuban is this guy is willing to spend and his executives and scouts are smarter than the Knicks. Let's see if Cuban can buy his way out of trouble.
