I'm sorry but I just had to open a new thread showing my appreciation for Rick Adelman after what's been going on lately; topped off with the latest audio clips and news regarding Tracy.

So please show some love and suppor the coach who's got us the 22 winning streak, who's partly responsible for the development of Carl, Aaron, Von and maybe even Luis (they probably never would've gotten PT under JVG), who's kept the team somewhat in check with all the drama that's been going on, who's trying to get the best out of the team (even though we might question his methods at time), who's done an amazing job with the cards he got dealt this year with the line-ups changing and probably a lot more than either slipped my mind or do not realise.

So please support RA and share with everybody why you appreciate him, especially in these times of turmoil.

Also do not make this an argument about RA as a coach or why didn't you appreciate him when we were losing or anything negative.

    So positive posts only guys

    Thank you

P.S. Here a nice read of the beginning

Exactly the kind of post I asked you not to. Thanks for giving the rest of the board an example what not to post in this thread. It's to appreciate him, not getting into a discussion.

I also think Coach Rick Adelman is underappreciated. He's a working class kind of guy and was able to work his way up through the ranks all the way to becoming an NBA coach.

I commend RA for his ability to coach this team under the circumstances. A very nice man who I know wants this team to win badly.

I know he likes to take his wife out to eat after a Rockets win, but I won't disclose where because we as normal ppl need not to be so entrenched in the lives of ppl who are in the public eye...but that's another subject. My friend who works the place says his eyes are glued to the set when the Rockets highlights are on and he's adament about what's depicted just like us fans.

This all coming from a devout JVG lover. Though I did disagree with some of the methods of JVG like bringing in players that were way past their prime i.e. Clarence Weatherspoon, Charles Oakley, Rod Strickland, Mark Jackson, etc or players that just played defense and couldn't score ...

Summer Rookie League 2003 - I still love the stern look JVG gives despite being with Rocket fans. (his 1st season as Rockets Head coach)

    +1

Rick Adelman is a fine coach, he does not deserve getting tossed under the bus by Captain drama.......

Rick should be tougher, but he is great for this team now that Drama boy is gone.

He's got this team fighting for homecourt even with all the stuff going on in the 1st half with T-mac, Ron, and Battier.

    Gotta respect that.

Deserves at least a look for COY.
Maybe some votes if we go on a nice run.

Hehe, I know that's why I asked specifically to just talk about the appreciation for Rick.

Why the question mark after it could be worse ? Typo ?

Unfortunately you are not going to get much backing here, mostly because Adelman doesn't talk tough in the media or yell and scream on the sidelines. Many people seem to value that over coaching acumen.

I like the guy, but can't give him a major vote of appreciation. A coach that can't command the locker room is only worth so much. Best case scenario is that removing McGrady from the locker room allows him to run things with the willing.

But his role in allowing the McGrady situation to hijack our season can't be dismissed. He was FAR too passive and submissive, allowing McGrady to do anything he pleased on and off the court.

Time to knock off the cobwebs of one of these.

Hats off to Rick and what he's done with what he's had.

Great coach, sad to see him go but onwards and upwards...hopefully.

It will be great seeing him coach Miami next year backcut the crap out of the NBA.
