    When is his contract up?
I would not mind plugging him into the 3 spot.

I mean we do a wink wink deal with Wizards
We release Dream [if we see we won't get him
    anyway]
Then traded them the #13 + Cato for Hamilton.

I think he would be a great solution at SF. How bout Walt and picks for him. Walt would give the Wiz some cap room next year.

    Starting Cwebb, RH, Cat, Wink...ouch

I would love to get Rip but Cato + #13 + a wink-wink with Dram seems a little steep.

How about tossing in our #18 and we get the #1?

    BTW, isn't Hamilton a 2-guard not a 3?

Why would we want Rip when we have Cat? Rip is to good to come off the bench but not good enough to take Cat's job.

The Wizards are using Rip as trade bait already (to get another lotto pick), so I would say they will part with him for veterans or picks.

My problem with Hamilton is actually his shot. I haven't seen as much of him since he left CT, but I remembering him being a great slasher, but not having much range.

    Is this still true?

Size doesn't necessarily matter, but 2-guards aren't that much smaller then SF. Kobe, Finley, Allen, McGrady, those guys could be SF. Hamilton could play SF, you don't have to be big to play that position if you have talent. All of those SFs mentioned and none of them are in the Finals. Rick Fox and Raja Bell is in the Finals. George Lynch is in the Finals. Turkalou (sp?) was at SF for the Kings. Pippen has been getting torched. Hamilton wouldn't have a problem I believe at SF. He is practically the same size as Mario Elie. Besides, add 10 more pounds on Hamilton and it wouldn't be a serious problem.

Comparison of Cuttino Mobley and Richard Hamilton:

    Mobley (Season-79 games): 19.5 ppg, 5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 38 MPG, 43.4% FG%, 2.09 TO
    Hamilton (Season-78 games): 18.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.9 apg, 32.3 MPG, 43.8% FG%, 3.1 TO

    Mobley (Starter-49 games): 20.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.7 apg, 41.5 MPG, 43.6% FG%
    Hamilton (Starter-42 games): 20.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.3 apg, 35.8 MPG, 46.5% FG%

Hamilton doesn't have great 3 point range, but he's no Larry Hughes shot wise. Very nice FG% as a starter, and shot a great 86.8% from the charity stripe. Here's for irony-Both Hamilton annd Mobley's career highs of 41 came against the Warriors.

Unless you can get some great deal for Hamilton, it'd be pointless to bring him in with Mobley already on the team.

Would it really be so bad to have two Mobleys on the team. I think it would be great to have Rip as the SF. Cat spends a good deal of time their anyway, when Mooch Cat and Francis run together. He is no smaller than Cat so he should do fine. Even though he is smaller than most 3s he is also quicker. It would make getting a big 4 and 5 a much higher priority though, lest we become the post Barkley Phoenix Suns.

    we lose Shandersen

I don't know about getting Richard Hamilton away from the Wizards, but we might have a shot to bring Thomas 'two sandwhiches' Hamilton back, from wherever he is. hehe.

Any ideas what the big guy is doing now?

I do not think the problem would be on the offensive end. Defense would be the issue. If we had a stopper like Mutombo it MIGHT work but we dont and I also tend to favor a tall, lanky small forward that can shoot from the outside and play tenacious defense.

Hydra: We only have so many shots. It's pretty difficult to keep two nearly identical players satisfied, especially when they both have the primary role of scoring. There are only so many opportunities, and we don't want to be like the Blazers, with lots of *dissatisfied* talent.

Nope, Not a great shooter, but he has a nice midrang game, and can knock down the three pretty well.

With the ball, this guy has to be one of the faster in the league. Right up there with Iverson, Kidd, Bryant

Richard Hamilton is a SF, not a SG. Washington may be using him as a 2-Guard, I don't know, but he is a true SF. He played that position at UConn. He would be a perfect fit on the Rocks, and would improve our wing defense.

Rip is 6'6'' 185 lbs. He is a 2 guard playing some minutes at small forward.
