Rich Lord is a goofy dumbass. He has pansy muscial tastes. Bruce Springsteen is east coast hype plain and simple. Name some of Springsteens "great songs".... um exactly. Blinded By The Light For You Growing Up The E Street Shuffle 4th of July Asbury Park Kitty's Back Thunder Road Tenth Avenue Freeze Out Backstreets Born To Run Night Meeting Across The River Jungleland Badlands Adam Raised a Cain Something In The Night Racing In the Street The Promised Land Prove It All Night The Ties That Bind Jackson Cage Two Hearts Independence Day Hungry Heart Out In the Street The River Point Blank Brilliant Disguise Tunnel of Love Two Faces Cover Me Atlantic City Nebraska Johnny 99 Reason To Believe Open All Night Stolen Car Fade Away That's just off the top of my head.
Doesn't matter really. My point was Springsteen is wimpy rock. That list you supplied pretty much confirmed that. There's not one song on there that is a good rock n roll song. It's a cross between pop and folk music.
Have you even listened to any of these songs? Doubtful. Springsteen is wimp rock as compared to who? Rob Zombie? Sublime? Jessica Simpson? The Association? Gorillazzzz? I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding the category of Wimp Rock. I'm just not that familiar with it. It's taken me a while, but I've finally come to understand some of the other categories of music, including Testosterone Rock, Hillbilly Rock, Youth Rage Rock, Girl-Gone-Bad Rock, Andro-Digi-Polymorphic Rock, and AmeriEuroAsia Rock. So, where exactly does Wimp Rock fall? Would that be between Metrosexual and Feng Shui Rock? I guess I'm just lost. Tell you what, if anyone out there can define non-wimp rock for me as a means of comparison, I would greatly appreciate it- then I will close this off-topic sub-thread. Thanks!
I think that Ill-Skillz is trying to say is that whatever you listen to is Wimp Rock. Just compare that to everything else and you got Non-Wimp Rock.
this is from another thread right, and you still didn't separate the quote from your post. that's confusing.
I certainly don't care, but the guy has an annoying habit of mentioning it on the air as if sports fans really care what he thinks is good music. I could see that being a tiny bit irksome.
Yeah, because we all know that the most important thing in music is how not-wimpy you are. Lord knows, the first thing I ask myself when I hear a new song is, "Hmmmm...is that song tough enough for me to listen to?"
I know Rich, personally. He is a friend of one of my closest friends and I see him every so often. You guys should know that he is genuinely one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I can understand that his radio personality rubs people the wrong way, but he really is a cool guy in person.
