    HA!

I have a 3.97 and ranked 3 out of 150 in AL high school taking all AP classes (except AUTOCad/drafting).

SAT is somewhere from 1250-1350 (depending on how I did Saturday ;)).

I'm 5'10" with dark spiked hair, cute, and I like basketball.

I like walking on beaches and talking. I'm also a Gemini.

So what are my chances? When I went for a visit (again) this past summer, I realized once again just how difficult it may be to get in there. I always knew how difficult it was when I lived there, but when I heard 'only about 10% of applications are admitted' and the average score was about 1350 or 1400, I kind of maybe reconsidered.

No offense, but 1st guy doesn't have much of a chance.

2nd guy depends on extra-curriculars (quality involvement in a few activities and other stuff) good ranking, but SAT is below average. Maybe if you said you're from AK instead of AL you'd get in for sure.

    201 PSAT.

    DIE!

    (I've been to Alaska once).

Anyway, I have no idea what I want to study. I have a negative idea of what I want to do with my life. I suppose now would be a good time to decide.

I'd rather not get into a profession that requires graduate or extra school, but there really is no choice.

The only thing that I like and enjoy is sports, which is pretty sad considering I haven't played any sports in forever. I was thinking sports management or soemthing, but where would that really take me?

A friend of mine wants to be a video game maker or producer. That sounds intriguing, but I think, how many other guys plan to do that as well???

But first I have to decide where to apply...:(:(

You would need at least 1400 SAT I think.

also newspaper editor, involved in Key Club, graduating with 6 honor cords, and a few extra curricular activities.

After a quick research of schools, I think I've decided Georgia and Texa might be my top choices. It was originally Columbia, NYU, or Penn, but I thought 'Why would I want to go up North with all of those abnoxious women who aren't that great looking (no offense) and it's cold most of the time you're there so they would be covered up in layers."

Anybody have any suggestions about California?

Private schools have their own tuition plan.

That is, there is no such thing as Instate/out of state. Everybody pays the same, unless you are on scholarships.

I went to Rice, but that alone doesn't make me an expert on the admissions policy. I can share my honest views on the subject though. I was valedictorian of my high school class of approximately 400 students. My SAT was somewhere in the 1400s. I played varsity baseball in high school and did a few other extra curriculars.

Adeel, my honest assessment is that your SAT is on the low end of the spectrum. If you're serious about Rice you need to take it again or be the class president. Now, throw all that out the window if you are an under represented minority. With the new ruling, Rice will be considering race in its admissions policy. I would suggest searching your family tree for any trace of a *chosen* minority bloodline. Judging by your name, though, I think you would fall into the category of non-chosen minority, though, and you're out of luck.

Mr. Mooch, your numbers are more in the ballpark.

Dude if you don't even know about private school tuition then you have no chance of getting into Rice. Damn... you eighties kids are so clueless.

The closest I ever got to getting into Rice was when I nailed this girl in her dorm there. She was my girlfriend of two years. But saying that I nailed her makes me sound cooler.

Man I remember those days. I used to be skinny. Now I am 5'9'' and 170. I put on a lot of muscle but the Jack and Crown put on about 10 pounds of fat that I have been fighting (while sipping Jack and Crown).
