What an absolute joke. Take an old man who hasn't played in 2 months and wasn't playing worth a damn then and play him the whole game in place of a guy who has been doing nothing but good things for you on the court.

Thanks again Rudy! May I have another?!

Rice is a MUCH better shooter, better passer, and makes better decisions. I remember one play- he was trying to feed the ball to Yao, but his man was cheating off him and almost doubling Yao. Rice went to the middle and made an easy short- range jumper.

I agree with you JR about T-Mo, poor kid must really be wondering what he has to do to get consistent playing time. In fact I would go so far as to say I would like to see T-Mo start, I think it would help their the rockets chemistry.

Rice was playing because he was constantly giving Yao the ball in the post, somrthing few others on the team understand.

Maybe, just MAYBE he was being showcased, much like KT was and we can still hope to gain something from the stupid trade that brought him here and which I was against the second I heard it...

MAYBE they're trying to prove that in addiction to his expiring contract next season he can contribute something til then.

    maybe.

    fat chance.

Rudy just loves the guy, God only knows why.

rocketfat, i scanned the topics to see if there was a post on this topic already. unforunately your title was far too generic to indicate its content, which, after reading, I obviously agree with.

so . . . keep on bashing Rice / Rudy . . . but be more descriptive with your thread titles if you expect to attract all the related conversation.

I agree. That pass Rice lobbed to Yao near the end of the first half was a thing of beauty.

This is what the Rudy-haters are left with?

Let's see, Ming gets the ball 35 times in the post, has a great game, the team STILL loses...hmmm...what can I blame Rudy for now...let's see...oh yeah! He didn't play Terrence freaking Morris!! That's it! Let's get another petition going!

I know TheFreak. Why is it so strange to figure out that there is a correlation between Rice being on the court and 35 possessions for Yao via better spacing due to the threat of Rice.

It's like: hey but terrence is hitting wide open 20'ers. no consideration whatsoever that an open 20er is often caused by the defense denying Yao the ball. So, Rice creates better spacing and Yao gets all the touches he can handle to develop his game (which is the most important thing for the Rockets to achieve) versus playing Terence to develope his midrange game.

Terence, take a seat. We need to have better spacing to get the ball to Yao Ming.

I still remember the thread the day of the trade, when you and i were practically the only people here against the trade - and villified as non-true fan Rocket haters......but hey, I guess we were wrong about him ;)

I dont understand. What is this about Rice being the only guy to get Yao the ball? Did you watch the game last nite?? Steve was looking to Yao first and second. I really commend him on that. His shot was nonexistant and he knew it. The whole 4th and both OT's, Steve and even Cat where pounding the ball in the post to Yao and even MoTay. They were the focal point of the offense. Rice was distributing as well, but he was by no means the only one.

Yeah! we went for like, 5 pages straight of major Rice bashing while almost everyone said that he was going to punish people for leaving him open, and how much his presence would make things easier for Cuttino and Steve.

Yeah, that sure worked perfectly! Even EG is shooting at the same fg% that Rice is... what a great threat.

I always thought we should have just let Shandon Anderson walk...Rice has added nothing but an old guy on the bench limping in the way of Tmo and Boki...move aside old man.
