Maybe this is a reasonable comparison for Capela's contract?

I'm hearing the 48 million reported by Woj is the correct figure. Pretty good deal honestly.

Worth watching for you guys. Capella can point to that contract. His agent should be able to use Nurkic's contract to get Capella something similar.

That's a pretty good deal for a young starting center who can give you 15/9 every night. Portland's learned their lesson from the bad contracts they handed out a couple of years ago.

Hopefully this helps with Capela, I say offer him a declining 5/75 deal.

I've respected Neil Olshey for a long time, but he's stunk it up with some contracts the last few years. Maybe he's getting his groove back.

(and maybe Nurkic is too scared to wait until next summer).

If we can get CC at 15 per... Would be a hell of a deal.

Nurkic is banged up alot. He is more injury risk than capela. I dont blame him at all for locking up that money. He already gambled once and turned down a 4 year extension last year. Doubt he wants to gamble again

At the beginning of the year I was thinking/hoping Capela could be re-signed for 10-12M per year so 4/48M is perfect, and this was before he showed how much he improved and how dominant he was against the Wolves and Jazz in the playoffs.

After the playoffs, I was expecting we wouldn’t get him back under 18M.

His agent could probably up the asking price a bit using Nurk as a baseline.

I think it's a solid contract. He would've been overpaid lots if the market didn't shrivel up.

In a world where mosgov got paid 4 years 64 million. This does seem like a bargain.

Still dont know how mosgov can be moved 2 times with that horrible deal and Anderson is somehow immovable. I think the media has talked so negatively about rhinos contract that its made gms hesitant. When in all honesty there are way more worse contracts in the nba.

Capela is much, much more impactful center for the NBA in 2018. Much better at guarding quicker players on the perimter, finishing at the rim, and rebounding.

An offer like this is would be scoffed at by Capela's camp. He would make literally twice that amount next summer if he takes the QO.

Good deal for Portland, Nurkic had some injuries in the past, he was also overweight, but he set himself up as a good athlete now, he can create his own shot, he's strong, good rebounder, good passer, he has potential to get better as a rim protector so yeah, 12M per year is definitely good value for them. But i guess for the player too, wouldn't be shocked if his agent left some money on the table to reach a deal after the failed sign & trade for Cousins since he basically refuse to do that (to help Nurkic i guess).

Unless he gets hurt, and then he loses EVERYTHING.
