what the thread title says....he led the Bears to a super bowl, he lost and many said he sucked and threw too many interceptions

HOWEVER, im pretty sure he looked much more solid in his one preseason game with the Texans than he has in his entire career, the man knows whats up and is much much much much better than Schaub times 1000

    start the man
    bench the schwab.

im sick of the losing seasons and bob mcnair

schaub is hurt, logically rex grossman will start next week, especially since its tenessee. While we'd probably agree about Mcnair we havent seen a "losing season" under this regime, though this loss will probably be one of the worst ones in a long time. Grossman still sucks though.

Here we go...I think watching the fans have silly reactions is more frustrating than watching the Texans run a 6 yard pass play on 3rd and 12.

Starting Grossman for any reason other than Schaub being physically unable to take the field is tantamount to tanking.

On the plus side, Eric Berry would be a nice addition to the secondary next year.

Yes, a far better solution is to continue starting a hobbled QB, until 1. they make their injury worse or 2. they have their confidence destroyed or 3. both.

    I must protest.

    Start Orlovsky.

Then call up Minnesota and get Tavaris.

    And let's win Scrabble!

Grossman wouldn't even have the time in the pocket for his predictable long passes. "Eff it I'm going deep!" would be more like "Eff it I'm going *POW*" to the grass.

You sold me right here!

I'm not sure I have faith in Schaub long-term but this is just a childish, not-to-be-taken-seriously-no-substance argument.

    I'm a bit of a Texans outsider....

So Rex is technically the #2 guy over Orlovsky? That's surprising to me.

The spitting definition of a knee-jerk reaction thread.

    Sad.

32 teams in the NFL, assuming no one ties tonight 16 of them will be 0-1. At least 8 of them will have lost by more than a TD and as many as 10. If you wanna panic then panic, but I think its early yet.

If Schaub is healthy of course he starts.

Elway, Montana or Marino make that a closer game..but I don't think any of the 3 WIN that game with that offensive line performance.

I can't really respond to your player assessment but I'll take umbrage with this statement. McNair's patience, intelligence and lack of public ego will attract the coaching, front office, player talent and eventual long-term success that Bud Adams' schizophrenic micro-management repelled for 25 years. And the man paid $700 million (franchise fee) to get us a football team, we may owe him all the patience we can give.

Calling for Grossman to start is a statement of where this team is; on the edge of desperate falling into despair.

i think you mean where the fans are, not the team. they're 0-1, not 0-15 - which is about the time i'd start to maybe think about possibly getting rex grossman some snaps.

This is someone who apparently thinks Steve Francis is still a good basketball player.

    Moving on...

An argument for Rex Grossman saying he LEAD the Bears to the Super Bowl, and looked good in a 4th preseason game against scrubs. How original.
