“只要球队能够取胜,不要说是做绿叶了,我做泥土也心甘情愿。” --YAO That means :If we can win the game , don't say :"let me be the green leaf to foil the shinnig flower(the NO 1)." even I prefer to be the soil ... ^_^
Old news. That's Yao's quote after Tmac's 35sec miracle comeback. Supposedly the reporter called him while he was driving to home after the game.
In Chinese culture it's noble that one sacrifice his own glamour for the sake of the team. Yao is a role model as a traditional Chinese (at least on the surface ), so I won't be surprised if that is what he said.
Ok, I can write better fortunes... You will find true love on flag day or Your car is being stolen Apu
Now before you jump on Yao saying he doesnt have what it takes to be dominant with that kind of mentality, this however is Chinese teaching under communist. You have to understand that.
I'd like to see Yao go Karl Malone or Rasheed Wallace after an interview. "We pummeled those motha ****as, what nig?" that'd be badass.
after every inconprehensible post i encounter, i'm gonna retort with, " even I prefer to be the soil ..."
Yao: Coach, mamma said I can come back in a month JVG: well mamma did did she? Yao: Yes coach gundy, she said her chinese chicken soup create magic rays of sunshine that heal JVG: boy, what else did mamma say Yao: m-m-m-mamma said m-m-m-mama said JVG: there's something wrong with his mudublu oblangada
More so under the communist regime. This kind of teaching had been planted in every school kid's mind, so that nobody would challenge Communist's legtimacy. Of course it has roots dating back to Confucious time, ironically which serves communist well. Things have gradually changed in Market economy though. So now I doubt there are many 10 year old in China would say this.
