I didn’t find a post about this movie specifically so I thought I would share. I saw a press screening of it last week and I have three words for you. Oh. My. God. Sin City is a revolutionary film that will be HUGE at the box office. It’s quirky enough to attract the geeks and critics, has the star power to attract the masses, and is amazing in itself, which will attract the rest. It is like a cross between Kill Bill, Anime, a graphic novel, a fifties era detective flick, and an art deco painting. It has the most memorable one-liners. The corniness of the one liners is what makes them endearing. The theater laughed out loud at the awkwardness of some of the lines. We went “ooh” when we were supposed to. We went “WOW!” when we least expected. The character development was astonishing given the strangeness of the whole experience. It starts quickly and never slows. The end is fantastic, a nice big bow tie on a great movie. I’ll post spoilers if anyone wants ‘em.
almost all. Spoiler there is a swirlie scene that is about the funniest thing in the world. After the swirlie you get a quick glimpse of some floaters that were in the bowl.
If only she would have gotten topless. That would make Sin City the greatest movie ever. In honor of Jessica Alba, I'm going to post the greatest pictures of her ever from the newest GQ, I hope I don't get in trouble for these, no nudity, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to be seen gawking at these if you are at work: Some more: link link link And now the 2 best shots of her, ever: link to higher res version link to the 2nd pic If I've crossed the line, please have mercy on me mods, I mean, it's freaking Jessica Alba. There should be a clause in the pic posting rules when it comes to Alba.
Here's the GQ article, learned a lot of stuff I never knew about her. She also talks about being naked with Rosario Dawson: The night Jessica Alba and I got smashed together—after what I now dimly recall as our seventh glass of wine—she turned to me and said, "Now that you’ve gotten me good and drunk, you probably want to know about that stripping thing." Now, right off, I feel the need to defend Ms. Alba, who, at least in my dealings with her, does not immediately associate alcohol consumption with the removal of clothing. She will happily substitute food. For instance: The day before the actress and I were to meet for dinner in L.A. to talk about Frank Miller’s Sin City, in which she plays an imperiled stripper, and for which she spent untold nights in strip clubs across America learning the fine art of garment removal, she reached me on the phone from New York.
