Some links to the new EXTENDED trailer (about 7mins of footage) of Return of the King Extended Edition. Some great new footage, but does contain spoilers.

    Enjoy!

Too freaking many. I think they are 4 hours a piece. I did watch the whole season of Band of Brothers one day. I think I could do LOTR.

The extended version boxed set doesn't come out until December 15th, or something like that -- but it will be released before Christmas.

ROTK Running time is 192 minutes

plus 50 minutes of extra footage = 242 mins or approximately 4 HOURS

It comes out in Australia on December 10 (day after my birthday!!), same day as Battle for Middle Earth is released. Oh God, I'm not going to get much sleep for a while... :D

It looks like it contains all of the stuff I really missed out of the theatrical version.

    I can't wait.

I put this on my Christmas list, but I don't know if I'll be able to wait for Christmas!!!

Boooo!! You aren't a real coach potato until you can claim to have watched the entire Roots series in 1 day.

    Simply awesome footage.

I have the theatrical ROTK DVD and watched it no less than 10 times. I've been counting the days till Dec 14th for the Extended version.

If you don't give much of a crap about ROTK, don't buy it. If you do, there is no reason NOT to get it; it's the complete film, including a battle between Gandalf and The Witch King of Angmar (why oh why would you cut this out?), Frodo and Sam in orc gear, marching with the orcs (why oh why would you cut this out?), Saruman and Gandalf facing off at Orthanc (why oh why would you cut this out?), the Mouth of Sauron at the Black Gate (why oh why would you cut this out?) and Faramir, Eowyn, et al, in the Houses of Healing (OK, this can be cut because it's character development, but I still want to see it).

The thing to me is, most of the stuff left out should have been kept in. Much that was left in was stuff that pandered to the females in the audience (long, talky, Lifetime-channel type scenes). Ironically, most of the women I know who saw the films would have preferred the action scenes, if anything had to be cut out at all (and a four-hour film would have kept many people away from the box office).

EzyDVD.com.au is my choice for purchasing DVD's over the net. They have free shipping to anywhere in Australia, which is cool, plus they've opened up some retail stores. There are a few in Melbourne, and a few in Adelaide

    For $59.83 it's a very good buy
