So what do YOU think about Francis intentionally missing a flight to watch the game?

I think Steve should surrender his disc inside of his hand-held so Van Gundy can break down his personal affairs. ;)

    I understand it. . . I don't particularly care for it . . .. but I don't
think this is a throw the baby out with the bath water moment

    He did it
    He was punished

    let's move on

HOWEVER this is just one incident
recently the constant bickering and bashing is reaching
    critical levels in here . . . .

    I'm TRULY disappointed with Steve
but . . . honestly I've seen it done for alot less of an opportunity.

who has not missed a day of work for some silly reason

Yeah, but I don't call in sick when there's a deadline. I don't call in sick when I'm supposed to visit a client.

Calling in "sick" for a practice is one thing, but game-day is different. I'm not a Steve basher, but I think he got his priorities a little out of whack.

    A) RR...It's a tad different when he's our max player.

    B) More so when he clims to be our leader.

    C) Said often, but how many of us get 10 mill a year?

    D) And this is the strongest point: This wasn't just missing...this was missing when your boss comes to you before hand and confronts you on it, and tells you not to do it, and you do it anyways, saying it's your priority. I would suggest that not many of us have done something similar, however much we are paid.

Hmmm, I don't remember that. I do remember feeling that Hakeem was SELFISH. Yes, from 88 to about 91 he WAS SELFISH. Talk to any of his teammates. No one wanted to come to Houston to play with him. He constantly had scuffles with his own teammates. He wasn't only called selfish in the press, HE WAS SELFISH for real!

It wasn't until he rededicated hisself to his religion, made admends with Charley Thomas, changed ownerships to Les, and started trusting his teammates (new talent) that things started to change.

Most of us here are not "fairweather fans." Fairweather fans never watch the Rockets until they start winning. Most fans here vent their frustatoins, but still watch. We have a penchent for punnishment. But we are not fairweather.

P.S. Not sure about his "injury" but I do feel that Hakeem wanted to leave because of Thomas.

    I have.

    I got my pay docked.

    I lived.

    I learned.

I'd do it again considering the boss I had at the time, and the reason I missed work.

Some of us know how to live life... while it's going on... not when it's past us by.

Good Steve. We all know Rudy T. would've just said, "Just fly out on the first plane in the morning, and be here early." (But then, Rudy T. actually had a career as a player, so he understands these things a little more than a 4 foot bald guy with a stick up his rear.)

    Carpe Diem.;)

JVG's a jerk and we all know it. Don't be so self righteous and act like you wouldn't risk missing work if you could've afforded tickets to the SuperBowl....

You don't think Mobley would've loved to go to the Superbowl too? MoT? Cato? JJ? I guess you're saying JVG's a tightass and what he should've done was let the whole team go to the Superbowl, right?

Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.
