[rquoter]Alaska Party Official Says Palin Was Not a Member
    By THE NEW YORK TIMES
The chairwoman of an Alaskan political party that advocates a vote on the state’s secession from the union said Tuesday that she had been mistaken when she said Gov. Sarah Palin was a member of the group.

A front-page story in The New York Times on Tuesday and articles in other news media reported that Ms. Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party for two years in the 1990’s.

The information in the Times article was based on a statement issued Monday night by Lynette Clark, the party’s chairwoman, who said that Ms. Palin joined the party in 1994 and in 1996 changed her registration to Republican.

On Tuesday night, Ms. Clark said that her initial statement was incorrect and had been based on erroneous information provided by another member of the party whom she declined to identify. The McCain campaign also disputed the Times report, saying that Ms. Palin had been registered consistently as a Republican.

After checking the party’s archives, Ms. Clark said that she could find no documentation that Governor Palin had been a member of the party. She said Ms. Palin attended the party’s 1994 and 2006 conventions and provided a video-taped address as governor to the 2008 convention.

Ms. Clark said that Ms. Palin’s husband, Todd, was a former member of the party.[/rquoter]

I bet McCain's lawyers had nothing to do with it.

So, if this is a lie by the NYT, you would argue that Bush lied to everyone about the war, correct?

I think plenty of people are still waiting for you to admit that hundreds of articles you've posted were lies over the years.

You've lost any moral credibility to demand retractions from others.

"Our current governor who I mentioned at the last conference, the one we were hoping would get elected Sarah Palin, did get elected. There's a joke...she's a pretty good lookin' gal, the joke goes around 'we're the coldest state with the hottest governor.' [laughter] There's a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as a mayor of a small town, that was a non partisan job [one she turned partisan btw]. But you get along to go along and she eventually joined the Republican party where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics [could have fooled me] and I won't go into that."

Again not the same thing....and everyone agreed that he had WMD's including the UN who did absolutely nothing after he blocked entry for the inspections...

As a tactical move it is brilliant, take the fight to their home turf and bring them out of the caves they live in. It worked like a charm and we were able to kill 10s of thousands of those worthless pieces if ****e.

Did you people learn nothing from the Jimmy Carter term and the Iran hostages?
"Dialog" never works with these kinds of people, only action my friends.

Actually it looks like Lynette Clark was the 'liar' in this story.

Or you could just say Lynette Clark misspoke and was uninformed about Ms. Palin because she's never heard much about her just like the rest of this country, even though she herself lives in Alaska.

Nobody is noticing that the article states her husband was a member of the party and that she did attend it twice?

Nice video catch, Oski. Certainly seems like AIP thinks she was a member.

P.S. the dude's beard is awesome. I'm moving to alaska so I can get away with that. (that or starting a band... it is a coin toss.)

    ROFLMAO.....she is a threat? Really?

    I mean REALLY?

She has very little experience, is part of the religious fringe, and has questions about her integrity brewing with the Alaskan legislature.

Check that, you are correct, she is a threat to the Republican parties chance at winning this election.

Noticed. I just don't care. Let's see... does it matter to me if Palin was a member of a group that wanted Alaska to secede from the USA? ...checking... No.

I think his point is that the intel said otherwise. The same intel had by the UN, Clinton, Congress, etc.

Not saying that it was right or the right decision, just that is what the intel said.
