This should be interesting. I wonder how Stern feels about it.

If it's anything like the NFL dude it will be pretty much useless. Pretty much just sticking up for the officials.

Based on his tone, he's definitely going to take a sympathetic stance towards the officials.

I like that guy and have heard him several times call out the officials for making the wrong call.

Calls get missed much more often in the nba due to no challenges or instant replay. He should have plenty of material to talk about.

When Javie challenges a call, my head would say, "hey you made the same call brother."

Well if he is working for ESPN, then he could talk about the NBA and the officiating anyway he likes without punishment right? Well anyways it would be interesting to hear from a ref's point of view about the way fouls and technicals have been called throughout the years.

The most pertinent questions is, Why has Joey Crawford not retired already?

Is Dick "Charles' other lover" Bevetta still employed? He's way more overdue.

i really liked javie as an official. he went from hot-head early in his career to really good official by the time he was done. he knew how to control a game without handing out ridiculous techs.

i'm not sure this will work as well as with football. oftentimes with football you just have a situation where nobody knows the actual rule because it's so arcane and it's helpful to have it explained. with basketball you almost always know the rule and then it's just up to interpretation. good luck explaining interpretation.

I liked the headline but the story is troubling since he will undoubtedly stick up for the officials. He will never admit they are making star calls or calls based on a certain player or what he thought he saw. Javie was one of the good officials in the 90s though.

Actually I think he gets butt hurt over anyone questioning the officials or go against what he thinks is right.... basically re-affirming officials ref based on emotions rather than stay impartial.

This will only be good if he has to debate calls with JVG.
