I don't know about you guys, but I have been finding some killer restaurants in H-town lately. Two good ones in the Village are Istanbul Grille on Morningside and Humpty Dumpling Cafe on Kelvin. Y'all got any other new ones to check out? ------------------ Bring It!!
I dont know if I mentioned this on the other one, but Perry's Steakhouse kicks ass in Clear Lake. I'll be going to Kemah in a week so I'll see what I can find there. ------------------
Anyone know of any good restaurants within a 5 mile radius of hobby airport? ------------------ ...out with the old, in with the new...
Mexican Lindo is really good Mexican Food off of Fuqua (so I've heard). Taj Mahal (a few minutes from Hobby) is one of the best Indian Restaurants in Houston. ------------------
SG...check out Tony Mandola's Blue Oyster Bar. It is off the I-45 Feeder, northbound side, very close to the airport. Pretty awesome Cajun food. ------------------ Bring It!!
I dig that place also. Especially the Turkish Coffee when I need an afternoon jolt for the rest of the work day. But you must try the Humpty Dumpling place as well. Damn good Dim Sum. ------------------ Bring It!!
I have to agree with RocketmanTex (even if he is a damn liberal); the blue oyster bar is a great place to get a good buzz and some good food when your southwest flight is delayed. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
The original Loma Linda's is right off I45 pretty close to Hobby Airport. Great Mexican food. I ate at Perry's Italian a couple of weeks ago and it was VERY good. The steakhouse doesn't really appeal to me (for obvious reasons) but the Italian place was terrific. I love good Italian food. I could eat it every day! ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
Awww, c'mon...let's not start that again! I'm too tired from the last one One good thing about living here in H-town: Good restaurants cut across political lines!! The Blue Oyster bar kicks butt. About 5 years ago I was in town for a wedding. I was a groomsman and all of us went to the Blue Oyster bar for lunch about 3 hours before the ceremony. We almost didn't make it to the ceremony (combination of beer & food). I love that place! ------------------ Bring It!!
Although, it's not close to any of the requested areas, one of the restaurants that I just recently visited and came away in love is Michaelangelo's on Westheimer. It's near Ruggles, closer into town by about two or three blocks. It's Italian food (hard to figure that one out). The prices are comparable to The Olive Garden (Approx $1 more per entree), but the food is ten times (if not more) better. The setting is similar to Ruggles, but not nearly as cramped, and not quite as snooty. But, the inside of the restaurant has that same upscale feel about it. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
