The rockets meaningful season is over.

They couldn't pull it out tonight against a fringe playoff contender even when we had a crazy scoring night from Martin which ain't gonna happen every game. Without him tonight we lose by double digits.

Our big sucks at defence currently cause they are too inexperienced, we don't have any interior presence to stop drives coming in because our perimeter defence is horrible as well.

Offensively we rely on our jumpshot way to much, Scola is good in the post but he cannot be our go to guy, neither can Martin. The only player we have that can create for himself is T-Will.

I think its time we gave up the hope to chase the playoffs this year because the last few games we have played against not the best teams but only the fringe playoff contenders and we haven't been able to beat them.

Our cupcake schedule combined with our hot 3 point shooting just before these games lulled us into a sense that we have a chance this season to surprise a top seeded team from a low playoff spot, but over a 7 game series it will be extremely hard to shoot 40% + from the 3. When good teams start shooting poorly they have a constant defence or post presence they can rely on the try to control the tempo of the game until they start shooting better. The rockets only constant is their shooting and if your constant is your shooting your gonna be in trouble.

Proposed plan for the rest of the season is to perhaps rebuild but go more with potential to see if maybe we can develop a special player and maybe ride our way into the playoffs. However i still don't see us being any threat in the playoffs with our current defence...

I'm kind of hoping for a major reshuffle to trade some players especially Scola and Miller. I'd stick with Hill for a little longer to see if he can pick it up mentally cause he still seems lost far to often but give him another year.

All in all we should start playing Patterson, Hill, T-Will and Lee BIG minutes, this way they will develop and maybe we can get a top 10 pick and see what we can do for the future.

Our season has been over since the slow start.

Certain posters wouldn't admit it however. :(

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree that this season is over..... unless.... We make a major trade that upgrades our team significantly. But I don't see that happening.

Be prepared guys, because we could honestly go on a 10 game losing streak with this tough schedule coming up. :(

Sad but true. Morey needs to make a move but it may be too damn late to save the season by the time the move is made. I will be hoping for the best but it just does not look good.

I would be one of those posters who can't admit this season is over, being a die hard fanatic will do that. Please Morey make a move to save the season, it sucks ending up in the lottery.

It sucks worse not ending up in the lottery so that we can perpetually pray for a move so that we can keep our heads barely above water.

If you rebuild it, they will come.

The kicker to this kind of season is that we also lose the bet with New York. That swap has a 95% chance of being useless at this point.

Trying to not be knee jerk but it ain't about trading for 1 player or something anymore we need to change our entire culture of the way we are playing now. 1 guy can only plug so many holes but in the end the rest of team
Have to buy into the same concept of defending for each other!!

There's 2 ways to look at what to do with this ball club.

    1) What translates on the court and what is needed to improve the team.
    2) What the financial situation looks like and how to move forward.

This team is just not very good period. I've said it a hundred times this team can not defend worth a lick. They give up to many easy baskets and your best scorers are the worst defenders in the league. You win with defense! period. But no they want an offensive team. Look, defense bails you out when you can't score the ball and is why defense wins. I see 2 failures with this ball club.

    1) Yao/McGrady
    2) Went offensive by replacing JVG.

Both experiments have been a failure at this point.
