I think one of the things happening in America is the loss of respect for the Process of things.

I told a friend of mine that I felt all kids and people in general should watch a hog or cow slaughtered. They need to understand the process in which food gets to their plate and respect it.

I also stated I find it ridiculous that folx get pissed at Pro-Lifers for showing the result of abortions to those going into the clinics. They say it is barbaric. I feel if you strong enough to get one. . then you should recognize the whole process of what it entails. You should definately know what you are doing. . the idea of WILLFUL Ignorance is repugnant and stupid. It is so EASY to do something and then claim ignorance.

The same thing goes for Death Penalty. It is to . . . . .easy. If Executions are public and painful. It works as a better deterant. It will make you think deeper on if you really ok with it .. if you are for it . .because you would have to really think if something that painful is something to do to an innocent man. And if you against it .. it will make u see that it is truly the ultimate penalty and that that person was unredeemable.

    Last thing
I dislike how some folx don't like to see the pictures of wars. They too brutal for TV . . . IT IS A WAR .. it is brutal. you need to understand in your heart that it is something to be avoided at all cost and if you do it. . . IT BETTER BE FOR A LEGIT REASON.

I think because THE PROCESS of things has been so much moved behind closed doors and willful blindness . .. we have lost our respect for things. It is easier to go with those things. You know. . sometimes. . THINGS WILL BE NASTY DIRTY AND NOT PLEASENT . . . .

Now a days .. no one cares if u step on hobos to get rich . . .JUST GET RICH
No one cares if u have to bath in virgin blood to look good. . .JUST LOOK GOOD

We have become such a RESULTS driven society
We are an ENDS JUSTIFY the MEANS Society

    I am concerned.

I see what you are saying but I don't necessarily agree.

For instance the process of an operation can be gross to some, and even cause some to pass out.

We aren't all Doctors. We should all be allowed to get better, but shouldn't all have to see the process of operations.

You should be. I don't agree with everything in your post, but I agree with a hell of a lot.

Our society demands near instant services at our disposal. Eventually we'll probably have mega stores like Costco and convenience 7-11s for people who don't want to shop online. Issues like global warming, global starvation, and resource driven foreign conflicts will continue to be pushed into the abstract when the finished products are cheap and readily accessible to us. The closest thing most urban people will see of raw oil or water is the gas station or faucet that the government subsidizes.

We've become this results driven society because so many of us are ready to accept it as a progression of civilized life, like the Jetsons where dinner, clothes and TV come from a magical machine. Even the cold equations of economics suggest that this processless product is what most people want.

Eventually, there will be a collective disappointment in what we've acheived over what we've lost. After all, the simplicity is only an illusion to help us consume and demand more.

Nice post. Our opinion on many things can change with more exposure to the subject matter. With the proper exposure, we develop a better understanding.

My beliefs about both homosexuals and lawyers were changed by having some as friends.
