I know there's no animosity in general things go pretty smoothly between native English speaking Clutchfans and native Chinese speaking Clutchfans but I just got back from spending 4 days in Northeastern China (Dongbei) and that made me appreciate the langauge difference. I speak about 6th grade level Mandarin and my reading and writing is even worse so being in a place where practically no English is being spoken or written was a bit of a struggle. After that made me a really appreciate the fans from China who come here to talk about the Rox in a non-native language and one that they are unlikely to converse in everyday. On top of that for many posters to do it well along with providing translation of Rox material in Chinese.

So while us native English speakers might laugh every now and then at "the Lake people" or "Mutumbo war elbows" we should appreciate the effort that Chinese fans have shown to come and read and post in another language.

i agree with your post. i too have spent some time overseas and it was a humbling experience (language-wise), so i get what you are saying; it takes effort to get on here and post if it is your second language.

if the thought behind their post is intelligent, then i am fine with whatever broken engllish they say it in.

now when they just start talking about how yao ming is the greatest center ever or that he is greater/bigger/more important than tmac or anyone else for that matter, i do get VERY annoyed... i know they're yao fans, but this isn't just a yaoming board, it's a houston rockets site!

I tend to think most people here have fairly high degree of tolerance towards either crazy fandom or sucky English, but not both. In one-liners such as "Sell Yao for xx player" or "Exchange Yao!", you have both. It may sound cruel to non-native speakers but when you post like that you open yourself to ridicules, more or less deservingly. This is a forum in English but not on English. If you are not comfortable with the language yet, start slowly, proceed with caution, and make sure you are somewhat thick-skinned. Good analysis, ground-breaking news on the team or on a player, funny jokes, and other useful information are always appreciated, even if they are not expressed perfectly.

Not only can we introduce the new foreign fans
    about the rich Rockets history,
we can also introduce them to our culture.

    for example...soft leather!

That was Mike Dunleavy. He kept hitting the shot that put them over 135 points - thus, free chicken.
