Checking the old DVR . . I noticed Heroes was a ReRun Between DVRs, HULU and and a changing of what a SEASON is . . [we now seem to have 3 seasons - Winter Summer and Fall - where shows only have 8~10 episodes] what is the point of ReRuns? Beyond simply wasting time and space on my DVR! Every show needs to be like 24 [24 straight episodes!!! - If I am wrong in this but that is what I thought the format was. . . don't really watch the show] Rocket River
Time Warner just started PrimeTime on Demand in my area, it's essentially the same thing as logging on to nbc.com or hulu the following morning, but now the episodes are available on your television set... currently showing a slew of NBC(The Office, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Heroes, etc...), a few CBS, USA, and FX shows as well. hopefully ABC and FOX will hop on board soon. no DVR required.
Whats the future of TV in general? If people want full on-demand customized viewing, the broadcast infrastructure has to support it. Which is stilll a long ways away. If they still plan to broadcast programming over regular tv sets, gonna have to fill the airtime with something. No one's gonna buy a TV just to watch 90% commercials and infomercials. No wonder TV's become just following a bunch of random people around competing against each other toward some objective. Its the only way to have something new, spontaneous and fresh to hold viewers interest.
My DVR records re-runs sometimes... Stupid Crapcast. I don't ever have enough free time to plop down and watch all my shows on weekdays, and DVR is pointless now, because i can either find the episode on EZTV, or they put them up on the channel's website.
