    *Takes deep breath*
I may just end up looking like a jackass, but I felt that a ticket given to me while making a turn into a popular burger place wasn't warranted. Here is a rundimentary(to say the least) drawing of the layout of the "infraction". I will post a few photos that I'm going to bring to the court tonight.

I was at the location of the turn waiting for a cop who was making a left turn also. He was there, not moving for like 1 minute until he realized he was blocking traffic and proceeded to make the turn into the parking lot. He made a turn into what would be the southern entrance into a parking lot connected to the burger joint in my drawing. I took the turn straight from the median entrance into the burger joint. As soon as we got into line in the drive-through the cop pulled up to the car in front of us in line and I assume asked them for their license and registration. While I was wondering what they did the cop came up to my vehicle and asked for my stuff as well.

I was a little befuddled, and he explained to me what exactly I had done. I told him why the hell would I, if I had known what I was going to do was illegal, commit a traffic violation in the plain sight of a police officer? You know as in give me a motherfaRKIN I should mention that if a cop wanted to, he could write tickets all day at this location.

Hard to understand what the ticket was for off of the drawing, but your reasoning isn't useful. Whether or not you thought you were breaking the law has no bearing on your guilt. ;)

What was the ticket for exactly?

It isn't necessarily a quota ticket just because you don't like it.

I was going to suggest the opposite.

Preferably go to Kinko's and make it jumbo sized.

yeah you might want to uprgrade your Etch-A-Sketch before you present defendant's Exhibit 1 in court.

I still want to know what ticket was for exactly...

Was this a no left turn marking? Was the restaurant further up then you are depicting and you therefore had to go against traffic a little bit to get there?

I think this was on an episode of Malcolm in the Middle.

Lois was wrong, then it turned out she was right.

    Good luck, guy.

He gave me a ticket for driving in the wrong lane! He said that I drove into traffic to make it into that parking lot entrance. It's a matter of inches, I entered in on the left hand side of that lane heading into the parking lot and didn't "drive" into opposing lanes

Well was the fast food place on the other side of the median or was it a straight left turn into the lot? Seems to me you had to go across the opposing lanes of traffic to get there.

if its your first court setting - don't expect to go to trial. You won't go to trial on the initial setting - in municpal/jp courts you generall say you want to plead not guilty and then get reset for trial (you choose before bench or jury). Keep in mind, if you choose a jury trial - you'll be held to the same standard as a lawyer (namely having to follow the rules of evidence).

I already pleaded not guilty. The lady I spoke to today said it was a trial.

The left side of that drive doesn't, but the right side does.

you should have u-turned and pulled into the southern entrance. geez. ;)

what was the ticket for again...making an illegal left turn into a burger place restaurant because the northern entrance didn't line up with where you were turning left...causing you to drive northbound a little in a southbound lane?

i hate cops. i got a ticket last week for doing 50 in a 40 during morning rush hour and i was just going with the flow of traffic. hell, they were all doing 50 in front of me or i wouldn't have been able to given we were packed in like sardines. so, he pulls me over...the last car in the chain of speeders. funny thing is if you try to slow down to 40 on this road...everyone gets all pissed and tailgates you only to speed up and go around you. and, here this chicken***** cop is writing me a ticket for 10 miles over. to top it off, i recently got my car inspected and didn't notice until the cop asked for it...that those mf-ers doing the inspection failed to give me back my insurance card so i didn't have it. so, he wrote me up for that as well. then, he ends it with "be safe". FU, man. i hope you wreck your motorcycle, pigger. lol. he had some wireless symbol device. that ticket was churned out before i could even blink. the copper probably writes 1,000 tickets a day with that thing.
