Turkey has paid over $1 million for burning the documents proving the Armenian Genocide, ermenihaber.am reports, quoting Turkish Democrat Haber.
According to the source, Turkey bribed the Muslim Brotherhood to have the documents kept in Institut d'Égypte (Institute of Egypt) burnt. Democratic Jihad Party founder Sheikh Nabil Na’eem revealed the news at the Egypt government meeting and added that “the guilty should be punished.”

According to the information of the Cairo-based Veto newspaper, some of the documents would flummox Turkey in international courts. Na’eem stressed that Egypt has to punish Turkey, as well.
The report claims the archive documents of the Institute of Egypt were put on fire on December 17, 2011, and most of the evidences were burnt.
Founded by Napoleon in 1798, the Institut d'Égypte is dedicated to the advancement of scientific research. Its complex housed nearly 200,000 documents and manuscripts, some dating back to the 1500s.

I'll just wait for some larger mainstream sources before taking a flier on this one. It pre-supposes there are genocide records to begin with, side-steps having to describe them by claiming they were burned, probably all for the purpose of re-publicizing the allegations. I'm not biased against acknowledging the Armenian genocide, but, like the saying goes, once you eat your cake, you will no longer have it, because something cannot be eaten and there at the same time.

Everyone knows Turkey did it, so I don't know why they're going through all the trouble.
