link New York Jets All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis wants to be the highest-paid player in the NFL at more than $20 million per season, according to a report in the National Football Report. Revis, who is widely regarded as the best lock-down corner in the league, is scheduled to make $1 million this season, the fourth year of his original six-year rookie contract, the report said. The Jets want to avoid losing Revis by locking him up to a contract extension but the collective-bargaining agreement will make it difficult for them to sign him at that amount, according to the report. Nobody in the NFL is worth that kind of money for 16 games!
Ridiculous, Asomugha is the 2nd best corner in the game, makes 15 million and nobody thinks he's worth that.
Not saying the players salaries aren't ridiculous because they are, but you don't become an elite NFL shutdown corner by by taking extended vacation after your teams season is over. I'm sure dude probably busts his tail all year long to get where he is at.
Revis should just seek to become leagues highest defensive player... Peyton Manning might be worth 20 million and thats about it
He won't get that and he knows it, but the Jets are going to suffer because of Asomugha's dumb contract from the Raiders. I bet they settle on something a little bit more than $15 million/year. The Jets will let him sit out the season before paying him $20 million/year.
he should give his defensive front and the son of Buddy a huge cut of what he is asking for. I would say no CB is worth that much money, but asomugha got what..3 years 46 million almost all guaranteed?
Worth is kinda relative. If the NFL made 1 trillion dollars a year, league average could be $20 mil. But he's asking for too much.
Jets added a lot of players with big names , Jets cant sneak up on anybody this year . AFC East will be interesting with Pats , Dolphins and let's not talk about Bills
