I have a replay tv hooked up to my wireless network, and i'm thinking of getting another one for another room.

does anybody have one that has done this? do i just need another wireless adapter to plug into my other replaytv?

i've read where i need a wireless bridge or access point...what's the difference?

    thanks

You normally use a bridge to span two different networks so they can communicate w/ each other...almost like a router. Most of the time, if you buy a gateway, it's function is to bridge together Internet traffic w/ your LAN traffic. But a gateway often also includes firewall and NAT capabilities. For most low end products, a bridge and a gateway are the same thing. You'd be hard pressed to buy a pure bridge that wasn't also a router and/or gateway.
Here is a router from Linksys

An access point only effectively "bridges" your wired network w/ your INTERNAL wired network. It does not give you Internet access. For that you need a gateway.
    Here is an Access Point

Many brands combine the gateway and the access point into one unit.
    Here is a combo device
But when you are purchasing this, you need to know the difference between a gateway and an access point. Because if you already own a gateway, you don't want to buy another one. You just need an access point.

It's confusing cause the devices all look really similar and now so many devices combine features its hard to understand the differences between seemly traditional devices anymore.
