So, some of my friends and I are planning on going to the Renaissance Festival this weekend......

It's the first time for me, are there any things I need to know?

    What to see?
    What to eat?
How long should we be there?

Just want to get some ideas...

Also how much is the average cost usually for a whole day there?

I apologize if there has been a thread on this already. I did not see it

    Thanks

We are going there on Tuesday with my son's class, so I guess it will be toned down. This will be my first time and I have always wanted to go.

I am going with my class next Tuesday as well. We went last year and had a good time. Don't expect to see the Breasts, unless they are roasting on a pit. If you plan on eating there or buying stuff bring lots of cash. It is watered down from what happens on weekends but our kids loved it.

Is it a requirement that I have to play Dungeons and Dragons or read all Lord of the Rings books before I attend? I have done neither.
I agree  . I've seen pictures. What about the ladies?

As soon as I hit submit reply, and read the post over, I knew I had to edit.

If it was someone else, I would have been all over it.

    i hate freaking RenFest

my previous job, half of the people were part of some clan called "Chaos" because one of the HR people in our company was part of it and hired them if they were part of it.

It pissed me off, that it got bad to the point where when RenFest came around, if ANYBODY in the company called in sick, you would have to get a doctor's note to cover your ass even if you were NOT in the stupid clan. In 2003, there was a Rockets Open Practice I was going to call in sick at work and go to it, but was the time RenFest was going on, so they called me up after I called in sick and told me I needed a Doctor's note if I'm calling sick, which BS because they god damn knew I was part of that garbage.

Screw that company, which why it doesn't exist anymore and got the hell of that hellhole.
