I was talking with my daughters last night and they were impressed that I was able to recall all the teachers from my elementary school. Mind you, I went to "primaria" in Mexico, so I recalled each of my teacher's names for each grade (we call them by first name).

Escuela Matutina General Ignacio Zaragoza (c/o '86):
    1st - profesora Alejandrina
    2nd - profesora Alejandrina
    3rd - la maestra Crespo
4rd - "Profe" Angel - taught me and my 2 brothers
    5th - Profesor Francisco
    6th - Profesor Ruperto
1st grade of Secondary school - [homeroom] Maestra Lupe

    Homeroom teachers:
Middle School - Mr. Vargas, Mrs. Ekwo / Mr. Huey, Mrs. Cartwright.
High School - Ms. Lopez/Bolio, Mrs. Grisdale, Mrs. Milliet, Mr. Elkhatib.

I admire all of you CF teachers... (only ones off the top of my head are meggoleggo, Falcons Talon, AcesHigh7, FranchiseBlade[?], Castpr27, junglerules, across110thstreet, Isabel-college, etc., sorry for those I missed)

Teaching is something I want to do when I am no longer in the IT world, or when I have gotten tired of working for the place where I am working... I would like to be remembered by my students just like I can remember my teachers now.

Could you name all your elementary/middle/high school teachers (at least the homeroom ones)?

we both had a Mrs. Henderson for 2nd grade around the same time. Was yours really old with really flabby arms that shook when she erased the chalkboard, and did she make a certain rhythmic noise with hers class keys when she walked down the hall?

No, I think mine was in her mid 30's at the time..and not too fleshy.

Besides Woodland Acres and Whitcomb aren't that close together that she could teach both.

Thanks for the kind words, Swol. It's funny you bring up this topic because I was actually just thinking about it the other day for some reason. Since I'm an elementary school teacher (4th grade,) I was trying to think back to see if I could remember all my teachers. I think I could remember all of them through 5th grade, but middle school is where it starts to get hard because there are so many of them. Still, it's cool to think back, and in a way it feels good to know that years from now, these kiddos will probably remember me. My job is to make sure the memories are good ones. :)

Sadly I can only remember ONE of my elementary school teachers. First grade with Marsh. Wow, I've really killed a lot of brain cells over the years.

are we just naming homeroom teachers? because, except for kindergarten, i never had just one.

    Pondersoa Elementary: 1987-1992

    K - Tate
1st - Edgar for 3 classes, Keller for reading
    2nd - Rice, Groce, Sorrell
3rd - Puente (sp?) for homeroom, Kirby for reading, Hornsby for math, i think runyan for science, and then i can't remember social studies (logan?)
4th - mcadams homeroom and science, van kirk math, algers (sp?) for reading, someone for ss
5th - laich for science, hornsby for math, farron (sp?) for reading, and something that started with a K for ss and homeroom

mrs. lewis for music and mrs. hayes for PE all 6 years.

the ss and science teachers are the hard ones to remember.

OK, then all of them, but in Mexico ONE teacher was in charge the entire time, with different teachers coming in and out for special sessions like band, workshop, etc. Yes, the one teacher even was GYM teacher...

    Where's Pondersoa?

No, I can't, but I can name my 5th grade teacher: Ms. Green.

And I hope she died a slow, painful, gory death.

Robert D. Cummings Elementary School circa 1986 had 2 of the hottest teachers I've ever seen in life or in pictures, but I don't remember their names (or my other elementary school teachers' names, for that matter). :(
