Reminder: Running an NBA offense is a steep learning curve

Every time we have a bad quarter, I see a lot of comments about how we don't have a real point guard and Amen, Reed aren't ready and so on. I just want to point out that neither of these guys have been asked to run an offense more than occasionally so far in their NBA careers, and they each have less than half a season's experience doing so. Sengun also hasn't really operated as the offensive hub to this degree before in his career, and our offense is also running through him quite a bit.

I think we can expect to see a lot of inconsistency from these players for awhile. It may or may not work out in the end, but I don't think we can know for certain how well the offense is going to function until later on in the season after players have had a chance to settle into their roles and the team as a whole has adjusted to all the changes and the lack of FVV.

My point is, just because the offense is sometimes not working right now, you shouldn't jump to conclusions about the long term viability of any specific player(s) at running the offense. What you're seeing now is likely not the final product.
