We were below .500 going into the new year. Quit overreacting and tying up the board with its this guys fault or its over trade them threads.

You forgot to mention that people were saying how Adelman didn't know what he's doing, how T-Mac was a sissy, how Yao was overrated, how Morey was so dumb in trading Gay away, how we should have kept Vspan, and how we should trade half the team to the team we just played etc. etc.

This board is as predictable as JVG's offense. ;)

To reply to the OP, yes I remember. But of course we have the right as fans to be pissed off about our horrible performance last night against the Spurs.

As to you, easy, Tmac is still a sissy, Yao is still overrated, Morey could still be dumb to trade away an All-Star potential young guard for an opportunitty to win now (if we decline rapidly in 2 years that is), and whos to say any other coach cannot achieve better than what Adelman has so far with this team. As far as I am concerned, Adelman has done nothing except for luring in bonzi wells and ron artest. With this lineup, you can hardly argue that Adelman will absolutely better than if JVG were in charge. In fact, it is almost easier to argue, on paper, that JVG is the slightly better fit.

I think the board is pretty much pissed because we dont have anymore excuses. Its Rick's 2nd year and we have the 3rd scorer we've been longing for and the fact that Tmac is having a pretty bad string of games (excluding the PHX game) does not help.

It should be added that while it is indeed early in the season and we havent gelled that much, it doesnt excuse the losses we had (except the Boston one/Maybe Lakers game too but the 4th quarter blowout was unexpected.) Also most of our wins were won ugly too.

But whatever, I still believe in this team and I believe they will turn it around (hopefully it starts with the game against NO) and be the Western powerhouse they were meant to be this year.

Getting Artest was supposed to have catapulted us into elite status, pundits have us going to the NBA finals, its early but yes i'm worried that this team won't meet lofty expectations. The big 3 have a lot to prove.

Honourable mention for trying to calm things down! But you gotta remember that we DID have a 22 game winning streak last year, which we're unlikely to repeat.

So it'd be nice not to be going into the New Year under .500 again ;)

Having said that, a win over NO today and we're top of our division :D

    1. I remember being below .500 early in and fans overreacting every* season.

    2. I remember picking up the slack late into the season, getting good playoff position, and fans getting excited every* season.

    3. I also remember getting knocked out of the first round of the playoffs and fans becoming very disappointed by the end of every* season.

    See the trend?

So perhaps you're implying that we're just going through the first stage. We fans are just worried that it'll lead into the third stage.
Maybe if we started the season with a winning streak, we fans would truly feel confident.

    * okay, not every season, but the seasons we've made a playoff run with T-Mac... you get my point...

but this year was quite different from last year

    Brooks has grew up
    Landry has grew up
Barry, who has a high bball IQ, replaces Novak
    Artest has come

Our expectation and "thirst" have reached a climax, but the fancy team is just torturing us.

yes, yes. but the if we play the way we play last night say for half of our games, chances are we can't make it to the playoffs. in sports, impossible is nothing.

remember 22 in a row only happens once for a few decades.

This year, we have a great opportunity to win the division, we should at least be the most dominant team in texas.

take the "should" out at the end of the season, then we've achieved something. right now, it's just funny to say anything about "the most dominant team in texas" right after last night's loss.

The J in Jesus should be capitalized. The B in both Brooks needs to be capitalized. Also, "..." is not a proper way to write a sentence. You are also missing a punctuation mark after atrocious. To sum it up, your post has many fragments.

remember we had a 22 winning streak after the new years which got us back in to the playoffs in a decent seed...

how often do we, or any team, get a 22 winning streak? not that i want to splash cold water at everyone's face now, but do you think we can pull another 22 W streak any time soon? do you think any team can pull a 22W streak any time soon?

    probably not...

we can't assume to be below .500 by new years and still placed decent in the playoffs again...

It's not just about the past few games, it's about the past few seasons. We've thrown out every damn excuse trying to defend these underachieving punks. We've complained about the supporting cast, coaching, injuries, refs, and the GM. Every time we fail we complain about the same ole, same ole. Then the next year they promise us a special season and deliver that same ole bs.

This season was supposed to be different. They've run out of excuses but continue to deliver crap on the floor. It's sad that our bench is playing harder and better than our starters, but at this point we shouldn't be surprised. We need a new set of "stars" before we see any success.
