........well, here is its cousin www.firemackbrown.com

I think this site is fair if Mack does not sack up and hire new coaches that are more passionate, energetic and have imaginative play calling. Mack still has a little leash, but only if he rips it from Greg Davis's and Carl Reese's collar.

I just got back from Dallas. Lowest I've felt since I've been a UT fan since 1994.

And as for this "OU SUCKS" chant. It sucks. They don't suck ok. UT fans get laughed at when they do this. Why say OU SUCKS when they have put in our face the last four years.

Kagy, I hope you dont lock this thread. I really would like to get other's reactions about whether this site is fair, and whether or not t other posters feel the OU SUCKS chant sucks or not.

It's surprising that on www.firemackbrown.com that on the poll it's 52% to keep him. I guess Macks been doing a lot of voting this sunday.

Keep Him, hes brought in some great talent and eventually the talent alone will be enough in order for UT to have a championhip season. what happens if they fire Brown than the recruits stop coming?

Bottom line UT football has improved since the arrival of Mack Brown, and really he hasnt been there to long.

Well, someone in another thread said it was 'OU' that sucked, not their football team.

Cannot say myself .. never been to Norman. :)

Yeah, keep that attitude and wonder why things don't change much in a few years. I used to have the same opinion, but it's finally changed. Any moron should be able to recruit kids to come to Austin now. Forget what Mackovic did. If Stoops can get the top kids in Texas and now the nation to come to Norman to play, then you wonder who really is the best recruiter? If Stoops can get the unheralded talent and make them the stars, you wonder who's really the best recruiter. If Stoops steals Bomar and Peterson, you wonder who's really the best recruiter?

Eventually the talent alone will be enough...my ass. Keep telling yourself that. That's the kind of attitude that's brought us to where we are right now. The recruits are going to stop coming.

Some people don't understand, everything starts at the top.

I know Mack is going nowhere. Reese will probably retire. Maybe Davis will be fired. I doubt that means we'll be signficantly better though. OU is going to only continue to get better. Their recruiting has already caught up.

OU sucks doesn't mean only their team. It's more of a general thing.

Maybe... prob only if he runs the table and wins a bowl.

If not, that could be it. He's clearly outsmarted by our chief rival.

(BTW, if the OU coaches could recognize that Young held the ball poorly, don't you think our coaches could have coached him? )

Guys, any darned fool can recruit. But only a rare few can both recruit, assemble a staff and mold a team into a winner all at once. Mack can do one of those things, but the other two.....I don't think so. UT needs to find a Mark Richt, a young coach who can do all of those things. Because when Fran gets going at A & M, UT will be taking a couple of beatings a year from OU and then A & M.

    Fire Mack Brown.

Greatest recruiter ever and the worst game day coach in College Football today. His blind loyalty to his offensive and defensive coordinators is ridiculous. Fire the lot of 'em, and get someone who knows Xs and Os.

You guys who think its just X and O's are missing the point. Bob Stoops has brought a whole culture of winning to Oklahoma. The same thing Rick Barnes has done with the Basketball program.

An ass kicking like the one Saturday isn't about X's and O's. Its about one team knowing they were going to win and the other team hoping to win.

    Fire Mack Brown!!!

Do you notice only non UT people want UT to keep Mack Brown? The real fans have been embarrassed enough by this clown. Screw firing coordinators, it starts with the top. Mack must go! Too bad he's pimping his wife out to big donors. Why else would some 60 year old geezers be in love with him?

That made me feel good. Had that been posted at the Horns fan site, I'd be banned.

    Yup, Mack's time is up.

Out go Brown, Davis, Reese, and the rest of the boys.

Time for an infusion of new blood.

I agree it's a risk to remove Brown, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take. The older guys who put up with Akers, McWilliams, and Mackovic probably aren't so willing. Brown is no Royal. Kick him to the curb.

Well, his recruiting can't be THAT good if those recruits keep getting taken to the woodshed by OU every year...

Anyone could recruit well in Austin given the nightlife, the facilities, the academics, and the hos. Mack has 7 years left on his contract, worth approximately $14 million. Unfortunately he's here to stay.

And the problem with recruting a bunch of 4 and 5 stars is that these guys don't improve in their 4-years here. So the talent in big games against the top-10 is a wash. Case in point: Justin Blaylock. The #1 O-line recruit, 5-star out of Plano, was absolute crap against OU. DJ would be well advised to jump off the sinking ship that is Texas football. Vince should transfer, and go play for a coach that will groom him to be the next Michael Vick, which he's capable of.

Mack's won plenty of games against little guys, but has not done anything really noteworthy, other than beating inferior MSU, LSU and UDubb teams in 2nd tier bowl games. This morning's press conference sucked. Mack finally named Vince the starter, though. Way to go Mack, after a 4-2 start.

Are there no specific performance provisions?

Does his contract protect his staff? What will he do if they're all released?

And exactly why UT should hire Mike Stoops.
