21 Sat @ Dallas 22 Sun Atlanta 24 Tue @ San Antonio 25 Wed Cleveland 27 Fri Portland 29 Sun Seattle Four games in three cities in five nights. Six games in nine days. Not one of the opponents will be on a back-to-back. I hope JVG can spread some PT around to keep legs fresh ala Wiz. (Only Wiz-like opponent is ATL.) Four W's would be great.
the only good thing I see about that is that the tough opponents(Dal and SA) will be on the first night of the back to backs...then ATL and Clev on the second night.. The Dallas game scares me..we have had more trouble with them than SA..in all 3 of the last games against SA, our big problem was offense....we actually hung tough defensively against them for the most part...we just couldnt put points on the board. the last two games have shown a much improved offense....the big question for me... Can they continue to share the ball and put it in the hole? if so...we have a better chance against SA and Dallas than we had earlier in the season. if not...well...lets not go there.
It would be nice to breakthrough and FINALLY get a win against Dallas. That would be a statement game for our team I think. Remember, Denver won IN DALLAS just recently. If Denver can do it, we should be able to do it too!
I really think the next 6 games are gonig to show how much we've come along (or how much we haven't). We play 2 western powers that we've had problems with, and 4 teams we should beat, but tend to lose to (Seattle, Portland).
Whatever happens lets not put too much emphasis on the game in Dallas, a win would be nice but not imperative to our playoff hopes. Just dont want too many of us to get our hopes up is all.
We've got to beat dallas and san antonio, and those games should determine how we'll do in the playoffs if we get there. Memphis and Denver seem to have a lighter schedule than Houston. Lets cross our fingers and hope the Rockets with at least 20 games.
I think that we have inside track against the Nuggets but not sure whether we can catch up with Memphis. I always believe that #7 seed in the West for this season is a better spot that #6 seed. I'd like to meet KG in the first round. This is a better matchup than against Spurs, Mavericks, Kings, or Lakers. Realistically you cannot ask for a better route in the playoff than KG - TD - KO. At least we can avoid matching up with the Kings and Mavericks in the PO. We just have huge matchup problem with them this season. I guess that in two years with Yao close to prime I will take my chances against these R&G teams.
This is exactly what I've been thinking. It seems almost certain Min will win the Midwest division and be the #2 seed. The way the Grizzlies are playing, I'm not sure we'll be able to pass them up, but I think we can hold off the Nuggets for the 7th seed, which means a first round matchup against Min, and that seems to be the best matchup we can hope for in the first round.
Don't look now, but here comes Portland. They've won four in a row. Tonight they play Orlando, who they should beat. On Friday, they play us on three days rest. They've played us very tough, and they have a better team this time around. Then, they play Dallas, who they have also beaten this season, something the Rockets haven't even come close to doing. The Rockets play San Antonio tonight on the road...LOSS. Tomorrow night is against the Cavs, who are very unpredictable. That game is a toss up. Then we play Portland, then Seattle, who we haven't beaten this season. Then, to start March, we play the Lakers, at Minnesota, and Dallas again, while the Blazers start a three game home stand against Memphis, Detroit, and Utah, then play the Clippers on the road. The Rockets could be the ninth seed by the middle of March...
A-Train: When the Rockets have had their own little modest winning streaks, you're quick to point out the inferior quality of the opponents. That logic cuts both ways. Portland's 4-game streak: W - Clippers W - Warriors W - Celtics W - Heat Before whipping up on these four powerhouses, the Blazers lost three games in a row: L - Seattle L - Utah L - Denver
The Rox lost the Texas two step, and nearly misstepped against the Hawks. Will there be anything in the tank for the no loner cadavers who are on a hot roll? The Good Guys could win the next three. Or lose three.
Don't get me wrong, I'm worried. And hey, I'm glad we have you around to crush those rose-colored glasses. I'm just not as impressed with their winning streak, that's all.
