Reliable place to get a modded Xbox?

    I'm weary of ordering one online. Does anyone know of a place that sells them ready or someone who does them regularly?

    I did it myself using one of those non-soldering chips

    it was fairly simple

    just soft-mod it, its alot better and easier than hard-modding. plus u dont have to worry about screwing up anything inside. its fairly simple to do, just google it.

    Allows you to play games from anywhere in the world.

    Allows you to play games that are pirated copies. ie, burned.

    It allows you to "bypass the purchasing" of a number of games by either playing burned games or burning games straight to your xbox.

    It's basically the same as downloading music from the internet but for video games.

    Or you can run Linux on your XBox and use it as a MythTV frontend, the linux equivalent of Tivo.

    But yeah, you can pirate games too. And play emulated games, turn your XBox into an Atari.

    You can also use your mod'ed xbox to run linux as a high-end, low cost web server.

    It allows you to play movies or music on your Xbox like a media center PC. Plus some chips allow you to play DVDs on Progressive scan (MS turned off that feature).

    It usually involves adding another large (120-160GB) harddrive, but modding the Xbox can become an easy link between your TV and PC even if you don't like playing games.
