. . .the best running back prospect since Gayle Sayers

Why is no one clamouring for him?
    I mean
If all these other teams and GMs are saying he is the best of the best
and the best in the last 20~25 yrs

Why is not one willing to give us a deal like the Chargers got from Atlanta?

    Rocket River
. . . not a knock . . but all the deals we being offered is BS

You are one of the biggest VY supporters on this board. I seriously doubt you really care about us getting deals offered to us for Bush as much as you are just bitter about the whole VY thing. Its not Bush's fault we signed Carr to his extension. No reason to start a new thread for this, there are tons of others to pout in. Plus trades can happen during the actual draft.... most do.

how can you even make a statement like that when we aren't even privy to any sort of trade discussions?

It was the day before I think. Now the Manning/Rivers trade was during the draft. My guess is the Texans take Bush #1 no matter what. Then they can see who falls to #4 or #6 and then have the Jets or Niners take who they want, hopefully Mario when the Jets pick and Davis or Ferguson when the Niners pick, and then make the trade. If it doesn't pan out or they try to lowball then you just keep Reggie.

We probably could get a deal like the Chargers got for Vick, and if the Texans can't get a contract agreement before the draft we could take it. I believe the only reason the Chargers did the trade is because both sides couldn't settle on a contract.

    1. Houston Texans (2-14)
Top-five needs: OT, OG, DC, WR, RB
The pick: +Reggie Bush, RB, USC
The Texans are surprisingly fielding far more trade offers for their pick than the Saints are at No. 2. If the deal is sweet enough, there's still a chance that the Texans could trade down a few spots (Jets?) and still get an elite player at a position of greater need, such as NC State DE Mario Williams or Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson. When all the dust settles, however, the Texans are still expected to take Bush with the first overall selection. Running back is not one of the Texans' top positional needs, but Bush is far more than just a running back. He's the most explosive runner, receiver and return man that this year's class has to offer. No other rookie will make a bigger impact than Bush will for the Texans next season.

Like others have said, we don't know what's been offered. We know that there have been talks and offers, but we don't know what.

But like I said before, the teams near the top of the draft may not be offering up an arm and a leg to get him(and that would be in part because almost all of them have a lot of holes to fill themselves), but how many of them do you think would actually pass on him if he fell to their pick? Maybe buffalo, but that's about it.

Rocket River. One more thing. I just read one of your old posts that quoted that you wouldn't support the Texans any longer if they didn't draft Vince Young.

Now that you know we aren't drafting Vince Young, and since you aren't supporting the Texans any longer..... why do you care what type of trade offers we get?

    pure football interest
I'm not drinking the bush kool-aid
    but
I am interested in what they are being offered.

I have never been a Texan fan . . . true they were growing on me
[I had not been an NFL fan since the Oilers left. . so I was only
beginning to get back into football]

    I'm not worries about VY
he will be all right [I'd be surprise to see him get past Titans]

    Texans . . . . not a big fan

I think if VY makes it past Tennessee and NY offers us both of their firsts and a second for Bush we take it, draft VY and draft a CB and OL with the later first and our 2nd. I think if VY doesn't get past Tennessee that it will take a whole lot more to get us to trade Bush to the Jets, maybe both of their firsts, and a first, second, and fourth next year or something like that.

What is the point of this thread? No one knows what we have been offered yet except the Texans the the guys doing the offering. None of that will even get out. In all likelihood, the only trade proposal we will ever hear about will be the one we accept, if we accept it...so you have no way of knowing if anyone is clamouring for Bush or not. Pretty silly thread, especially considering it isn't even so unique or enlightening as to be separate from the other Bush, Young, or someone Else thread.

Hey I understand the Orangebloods.....back in the day I used to leave no straw ungrasped at hoping that the Oilers would obtain Andre Ware since he was my Saturday Night hero. Course the Oilers had a QB name of Warren Moon.

And no that isn't me saying Vince is gonna be a bust like Andre as a pro.

Anyway, I can't wait til the draft is over so that all the hoping against hope types will be able to move on.
