give Reggie Bush some time, remember Ricky Williams?
he played hurt in his seasons with New Orleans, but then broke out with Miami.
Ricky was the best RB in NFL..
then he decided to see the world and do Yoga and eat veggies.

This could be a classic moment in the making, but with what he's shown so far, Reggie Bush will never be anywhere near the running back Ricky Williams was.

I think the Eric Metcalf comparisons are on par.

    BUST.

I agree with this poster. What a dumb thread. Lets hold off judgement on these types of things until the end of the year and until the player in question is healthy.

Has he been proven to be better than Metcalf?

    Rookie year comparison:

    _______________Metcalf_______________Bush
    Yards/carry_______3.4_________________2.6
    Rushing TD________6___________________0
    Yards/catch______ 7.4_________________6.8
    Receiving TD______4___________________0

Granted, the TD totals are only for half the season for Bush, but projecting those numbers over a full season, you still get zero.

Couldn't find any stats on kick returns for Metcalf. But from Hayes' post, you can be assured that Metcalf had at least as many return TD's as Bush.

    Eric Metcalf career averages:

    Yards per carry - 3.8
    Yards per reception - 10.3

    Reggie Bush averages so far:

    Yards per carry - 2.6
    Yards per reception - 6.8

So no, I would say that Reggie has not proven himself to be better than Eric Metcalf at this early point in his career. He needs to improve his yards per carry by 46%, and his yards per catch by 51%. That's a lot to ask, but if he works really hard, he might get there eventually.

hahahhahaahhahaaaa! did you just say that? tell me, you didn't just say that! you're the last person that should be telling everyone else to hold off judgement. you've been bashing the Mario Williams pick on a weekly basis. until recently, when MW has been producing and REggie has been crap, you haven't said much.

I'm thinking about starting the following threads:
    A.J. Hawk is a bust
    Matt Leinart is a bust
    Vince Young is a bust
    Jay Cutler is a bust
    Michael Huff is a bust
    Vernon Davis is a bust
    D'Brikashaw Furgeson is a bust

do i need to keep going?

    Yes. Don't forget Mario Williams.

Odd (but not surprising) that you left him off your little list....

Again, did he look healthy to you when he hit the corner on that punt return? He is just as healthy as most of the players in the league at this point in the season. Quit making excuses........

He's healthy, his game just doesn't translate to the NFL.

It's looking more and more like Mario will be defensive ROY, and good get the full blown ROY.

If Mario hadn't produced, I guarantee people would have posted BUST threads.

Were you around here after the first 2 or 3 games when MW didn't have a sack? It was overrun with "Mario is a bust, should have picked Reggie" posts.

That's kind of the whole point of this thread.

Isn't that what causes people to call a player a bust, not producing?
