I think the refs for the Rockets-Suns game should be fined for not calling a flagrant one immediately, which would have potentially stopped the fray then and there. Matt Barnes's action was uncalled for but the situation could have easily be diffused by the refs with a timely whistle. Instead, they just stood there with the whistle in their mouth as if nothing had happened.
totally agree...it was annoying me how Hubie Brown kept saying how well the refs handled the situation, without mentioning the fact that the situation would never have happened had the refs only made a call that a 5th grader could have made. C'mon, the play happened right in front of the ball in the middle of the court!! And not ONE ref caught it??
One ref was looking right at it! Just another example of ref homerism in the NBA. "Where Star Treatment and Homerism happen." Anybody sick of those commercials yet?
I would like to hear what the refs have to say about that play to see what good explanation they can pull out of their a$$es.
Yes exactly what we need. More whistle happy referees. We don't need referees running around scared s***less, ruining the flow of games.
It's not like they wouldn't have fought.. After the whistle, i am sure Rafer would go up and confront him, which would still result in the same thing (Since the game was so heated already). The only difference would be, flagrant foul on Barnes + no count for T-Mac's three and the fight wouldve been on the other side.....
Fined? You think that the refs should be fined for this? They may have missed a call but you are overreacting. Calm down and think with logic.
I am and some of them don't even make sense. As far as the refs, I noticed that the ref was looking straight at the play and was only about 5 feet from it. It's BS how we can't get any calls even the totally obvious ones.
Flagrant one and the refs should be fined? seriously... im thinking you should be fined for saying such a thing outloud
i really think it was hard for refs to call that, t-mac was going up for a shot, so the 1 or 2 refs who could see that probably was watching t-mac shot (3 pointer or not, foul on t-mac or not). there are also tons of actions in the paint as palyers fighting for potential rebounds... it's not an easy job.
Rafer went over to Barnes because there was no call. The refs didn't provide justice for Rafer so he had to provide his own. Put yourself in his shoes. Someone puts a nasty hit on you and gets away with it. Wouldn't you want to get in the guys face too? I know some of you are going to say "I would've turned the other cheek". Fine, but the point is, wanting to retaliate against excessive contact isn't unheard of.
Before Tmac's 3-point-shot,I saw Barnes pushed Rafer by evil foul, but referee ignored, and I cant hear what they was saying
