Shareef Abdur Rahim had surgery to repair his broken jaw. It is going to be wired shut. Out for six weeks.... Ouch. Sounds Painful.

How long before people are adding Chris Webber to the Vinsanity and Baron Davis list of, "Stupid trades of 2005: Superstars for trash" list?

Sacremento was 34-20 when they traded away Webber and now are dismal 11-17 with their prized offseason acquisition's lackluster play and now a six week vacation on the shelf. Hell, recordwise, they're about as bad as us!

Granted, the Sixers at 15-14, aren't exactly lighting up the world either but at least have a winning record and a probable playoff birth forthcoming.

Here's where I disagree. I think the Sixers are winning in spite of, not because of, Webber.

In the other cases, the "superstars" are helping their teams win games. But how long will it last? Given Baron and Vince's on-and-off effort and health, not forever. The Warriors especially will have a high price to pay - Baron's mammoth contract is uninsured, not good news for a player with both a bad back and creaky knees.

You think that team would be better without Webber? Who starts at PF, Steven Hunter?

Jaw surgery sucks. Took me 8 weeks before I could start playing any kinds of sports. Lost almost 20 pounds in the meantime tho.

I'm no Webber fan, by any means, but let's be fair here. He's one of the most disrespected stars in the league. Everywhere he goes: 20-10-5, for winning teams more often than not.

To say the Sixers would be better off without him is irrational. Without him who's going to be the #2 option on offense, freakin' Kyle Korver?

Ya, my sister in law had jaw sugery as well, she had her mouth wired shut for 6 weeks.

Weird thing is that doctors told her that most people gain weight when their mouths get wired shut. I don't think she gained or lost any though.

My two front teeth are still hurting me from a blow to the mouth. I don't think I ever want to play basketball again (kinda like Rafer Alston). It sucks because I cannot eat as freely as I would like to.

    this sucks.
I need SAR on the court so I can win my bet with KellyDwer.
The last game without SAR, they dropped 110 on the Clippers with Kenny Thomas (A MUCH MUCH BETTER PF than SAR) as their starter.

    Go KT!

Yeah, Webber's 22 ppg, 10 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 1.5 spg, 4.4 apg and 48% shooting isn't doing anything to help Philadelphia win.

You're on crack if you think Kenny Thomas is a better PF then SAR.
