No f*cking way hahahahahahahahahaha This kid just made me an even bigger fan. I know it's just one g league game who cares, but it has a certain "**** you for doubting me, watch what happens" air to it.
Could be, but statement games should be made in the NBA. If we look at how many statement games are made in the G-League, there are a lot of statements being made. Was happy to see him jacking shots - something he looked scared to do in the NBA.
Will they accept someone on the wrong side of forty, out of state, who huffs n puffs before he hits the fourth floor?
It's just one game, but it does lend credence to what a lot of us have been saying all season. Reed has been a victim of circumstance more than anything. It's got to be incredibly difficult to join a really good team stacked with other talented young players who need minutes, plus an established and high paid vet at your own position. There's simply no room for you to play through your mistakes, so you do everything you can not to make any. Reed actually did a good job in that regard, but it's essentially impossible to show out individually when playing conservatively. Take that same guy, unleash him in the GLeague where he doesn't have to second guess everything, and he nearly drops 50 while making it look easy.
