The Rockets made alot of people's nights. Reed Rawlings didn't get drafted, but got an invite for next week. http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/articles/20000630/245016.html If it weren't for R. Lewis, I would get the idea that the Rockets always made good impressions on players. ------------------ no fat chicks
Sorry but I dont know who Reed Rawlings is. Can you give me some info about him? His name doesnt ring a bell. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms." John Rocker
Never heard of him, but here's what I found: TEAM NO. POS HT WT CLASS Samford 33 F 6-7 215 SR Super athlete with a nose for the basket ... Great size to shoot over his opponent ... Excellent first step and strength ... Takes the ball to the hoop in one-on-one situations ... Anticipates, plays the passing lanes to get in the open court ... Good shooter with range, though he far from relies on that aspect of his game as a method of production ... When he misses, it is normally because of a miscue in gauging distance on his release ... When he takes his time he is usually effective, which is why he would prefer spot ups rather than jumpers off the dribble ... Follow through becomes more poised, he tends to flick his release less ... Can help out on the boards, but because he plays so much on the perimeter despite standing 6-7, he is rarely in rebounding position ... Back problems have hampered him. ------------------
Rocket Man? Reed Rawlings did not become the first Samford University basketball player to be drafted since 1982 Wednesday night in Minneapolis, but he get his shot at the NBA. Rawlings has been invited to the Houston Rockets summer league tryout. The summer league is a six-week period where teams have the opportunity to evaluate non-drafted players. At the end of the six-week period the Rockets could offer the 6-7 Rawlings a free-agent contract. Rawlings will have the opportunity to play the shooting guard position at the Rockets camp. He will be tutored by Rockets head coach Rudy Tomjanovich and some of the Houston players. Rawlings had a tryout with Houston earlier in the summer and impressed Tomjanovich enough to be invited back to the Rockets camp. Rawlings averaged 14.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in his senior season at Samford where he led the Bulldogs to their second straight NCAA tournament appearance. In the Bulldogs first round loss to Syracuse, Rawlings scored 28 points on 8-12 shooting. ------------------
