I was commenting on this game in the old thread.... Stros have had a great chance to get a few runs. Bases were loaded with one out. But nada, granted it was the bottom of the order, but our lead off man ended it with a ground out..... Edit: Gosh Everette stinks.....
Will we score today at home? UGH.....Taveras caught stealing. Please score a couple of runs .....what a waste of a SILENT Sell out crowd. They have NOTHING to cheer for.
This game just totally sums up the season so far Roger pitches great,O gives him nothing, but we still have some hope going into the 9th inning down 2-0...but no,the pen has to come in and just implode...7 runs jeez. With our O they should have just called it once the Reds scored again, their was no point in playing the bottom half of the 9th
The club record for being shut out is 23 in 1962 Source: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/3157907 The Astros suck
I think "they suck" is an understatement. I totally feel for our pitchers... our starting staff is awesome, and they have this horrendous offense to back 'em up.
I think the Astros are playing in a manner that befits the 40th anniversary season of the name change to the Houston Astros. They are playing like the Astros of my youth...all pitching and no hitting. If the Astros are going to play like this, they might as well go back to playing in the Astrodome. Then we can turn Minute Maid Park into a casino. Whaddya think?
Yeah! Let's go back to the pre-McLane days! Oh how I long for the glorious days of two playoff appearances in 30+ years! Forget the whole five playoff trips in a decade...that's for losers. And snakes. And people who spell the owners name right.
I like the Astros to pick up two people who were recently Designated for Assignment, Ryan Ludwick of the Indians and Eric Valent. Both are fairly young at 26 and 28. Ludwick has a lot of power but strikes out alot like a lot power hitters. The Indians had to DOA him because they had to acitivate Juan Gone and they have a lot of good young outfielders. I think he would a upgarde over "Swing and Miss" Lane. Eric Valent of the Mets had a excellent year last year and also has some pop. He is left-handed and would be a upgrade over Todd Self, who needs to hit for more pop.
