Some news for those of you who are ready for baseball to start again... Chase for 70 may finish at Enron Field Manager Larry Dierker plans to alter his starting rotation for the final three weeks of the season as a result of the Astros' layoff of at least four days this week. "I'll probably change the rotation a little bit to make sure we get (Roy) Oswalt, (Wade) Miller and (Shane) Reynolds the most starts we can get between now and the end of the year," Dierker said. If play resumes Friday as expected, Dierker said he plans to pitch Oswalt and Miller -- he hasn't determined in what order -- and Reynolds in this weekend's series at St. Louis. The Astros hold a five-game lead over the Cardinals in the NL Central. Dierker also indicated he plans to use rookie Tim Redding in the rotation and move veteran Ron Villone, who has made three spot starts, back into the bullpen. The Astros will need a fifth starter only twice the rest of the season, on Sept. 22 and 27 against the Cubs, Dierker said. http://www.chron.com/CDA/story.hts/sports/bb/1046088
