I now remember who I find the most annoying yankee behind Soriano. Mussina. I hate the guy. I hate his stupid looking delivery, his stupid leg kick, his stupid stare over his glove, his stupid grimace he makes before pitching. I HATE HIM. Go sox.
In the words of the famous BoSox fan, Bill Simmons..."I WILL NOW LIGHT MY SELF ON FIRE!" I'm sure having a homophobe on the playoff roster will help end the curse of the Bambino.
In case you guys didn't see todays edition of the New York Daily News: Front Cover Back Cover Classic stuff
Touche....I'm just thinking that the Sox need all the good karma they can get, and having Todd Jones on the roster might be a step in the wrong direction. But hey, at least it's not Ty Cobb or anything.
Didn't the rebels end up beating the empire?? That being said, Boston should do fine in the opener (up 4-0... "A New Hope"), struggle a little in game 2 ("The Empire (and Pettite) Strike Back"), and be dominant again once we see the "Return of the Jedi" (Pedro).
The Curse, "Evil Empire", Buckner, Payrolls, Babe, Georgie, voodoo, Clemens, etc, etc, etc. Through all the backstory one thing simply overrides. Wake. Whether the Sox go 1-4 or 4-0, Timmy was given the chance to pitch, and he was lights out. (=W=a=k=e=)
There's nothing prettier than watching a WAKEfield knuckleball on slow-mo zoomed in replay. It brings me to tears...
The Evil Empire can blame me for derailing their dominance. Every since I started kinda liking the Yankees they have been losing
I'm just baffled on how a knuckleball moves like that. Does anyone know the physics behind the knuckleball?
Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe had a great article the other day about the mindset of past Red Sox teams and their fans. It always has been one of "What bad things are going to happen to our team now?" This team has the attitude of "Why NOT us" instead of "Why us?" and you can see that in the way they play. Now, the Yankees could very well win the next 4 games, but it is refreshing to see, that for now, the Sox have finally changed their attitude. Instead of feeling sorry for themselves and moping around, they are doing something about it.
