I was matching the Mavericks telecast, and head a few chants when Francis was at the line and also when James was shooting FTs. So fill us in, what were you guys chanting throughout the game, and what 'new chants' should we expect for each player?

they are not really good this season, the few "good" chants are not loud enough and many are just stupid.

They did improve from game one so maybe one more preseason game and then they will be clicking.

Anyway the "it's a small world after all" chant was the only time it was loud enough imo.

Ya'll have free season tickets that cost 2,200 bucks a pop so do your jobs (not everyone of course but some)

were you at the game to know that they were terrible or just going off of the tv broadcast where they purposefully drown out the crowd noise?

The real Rowdies haven't showed up yet. . . .

They'll be unleashed once the regular season starts.

There were a few new ones last night...

The "It's a small world" chant was fun (when Barea was at the line)

The Mike James chant was "WHO? Mike James, WHO? Mike james" (though some of us were using the B word in place of "who"0

The two I remember for Steve were "Ste-vie Fran-chise (clap, clap, clap , clap, clap) and "Steve is back, Steve is back"

The one that I had the most fun with starts out like a cheerleader calling out "give me an (insert letter here)" for the R-O-C, and then K-E-T-S at a faster pace, so it sounds like "R-R, O-O, C-C, K-E-T-S"

Give the new Rowdies a break, they are just getting into the swing of things. Things will pick up during the regular season. Keep in mind also that during the regular season, a good portion of the crowd around us gets into our chants, too, that doesn't happen during the preseason (it was the same last year).

one section over, like I said it was better than the last game and the who-mike james and of course the Battier chants are keepers the Yao Ming song is always classic and even the ole ole for Scola is good. They just need everyone involved

By the time the season starts things will be heard clearly. There is 50 of us this year so far and some don't show for the number of people we have right now things are good but will get better. Ou r chemistry is coming along just the rockets chemistry.

okay i understand the rowdies are supposed to be family-friendly...but c'mon! "it's a small world after all"????? worst chant ever.

also, at the end of the games...please don't chant "nah nah nah nahh...hey heyy..good bye". it's amateur and the last time it was relevant was like 1987.

Some don't show?!?! Why would they work that hard during tryouts and not show?

Are you kidding? It mocks his stature and his manhood at the same time... and all short guys have a little Napoleon complex in them which can burst out any time and make them go nuts for awhile. Anything to trigger this is a good strategy in my book.

(For the record, I'm not a Hightist and have nothing against short people, wee though they be.)

I heard the "Ole, Ole" one, and for a moment there I thought Dynamo fans were in the building...that one is a keeper as well, IMO.

I heard you guys, you were vocal, I just couldn't always make out what you were saying. Good job as always, just work the kinks out for now and then be in midseason form when Oct 30 gets around. :)

I was at the game and they were pretty loud. Good job. The Yao Ming song made me grin ear to ear (it always does)

    Were you there?

Tough for you to pass judgement on the cheer when you don't know the context.

How about screaming, "Thunder Thighs!" everytime Bonzi is at the FT line? It may be disturbing enough that he actually starts making some FTs...

Rowdie Brandon takes the credit for starting that one up....*Brandon pats himself on the shoulder*....but it will get better when the reg. season comes along...it's hard getting up for the pre-season........

what I like about the yao ming song is that it involves singing... the chants they do in europe at soccer games are similar... the famous one that I think of is "youll never walk alone"

so what i suggest is everybody sing the welcome back kotter theme for stevie in unison and in tune...

"Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back"

its simple and effective, and has a gimmicky quality to it, more so than your average chant or cheer..

dont get me wrong, all the cheers and chants are great, but the old "lets go so and so, clap clap, clap clap clap" gets a little stale, no?

^^^I agree.....I'm not that big on the old stale one's either, but like I said once the reg. season comes and stories develop we'll have a lot more taunting material (cause I love taunting) for opposing teams.

    Eh.

If you want real chants go to a college that cares about its bball.

Here's the one we pull out against NC State:

    BIG
    HIGH
    SCHOOL.

    BIG HIGH SCHOOL!
