Seriously, I don't think they're making a diffrence because they're sitting far away to be heard or to effect distraction to the oppponennts.

    If so, probably very little.
Rockets games have mediocre crowds, so it seems. When you see a game, unless they are playing a big name team, there are quite a few empty seats.
In addition, it doesn't seem to get that rowdy....compared to OKC or even Utah.

are they helping? hard to quantify. they aren't hurting though.

the problem is, the crowd isnt into the games like in other cities (boston, chicago, new york, okc, utah, etc...). 50 rowdies can't make up for the other 17,950 people in attendance.

No, they don't help win games, but they do make the game more enjoyable.

The Rockets have been a better home team overall since adding the Red Rowdies, but that may have more to do with Adelman's coaching style. In the first year with the Rowdies (under JVG), we won 28 home games. In JVG's prior three seasons as coach, we won 15, 26, and 27.

Was anyone else kind of hoping that the RR would only be needed for like, two or three years before being loud at a game caught on with the rest of the fans in the lower bowl?

They add to the general atmosphere of the arena but they can't do it all. Winning in general will equate with more active crowds.

Why in the WORLD did you include Utah in this?

I live in Utah valley right now so I've been to a few Jazz games.. the fans bring it for Lakers games / the playoffs... that's about it. Not much different than the Rockets.

If everyone else in the stadium would get into the game like the red rowdies we would have the best home court advantage in the nba.
