I recently received a letter in the mail asking that I pay the fine 75$, I was not driving my vehicle when this shot was taken. But even if I was do they have a case?

I did not pay the fine because the way I see it , how can they prove I was driving the vehicle?

Anyway I have received another letter in the mail, stating that I must now pay 100$ or I will not be able to renew my registration for my vehicle...

    Is this legal?
Has anyone received a red-light ticket?
    Did you pay?
    Did you have it dismissed?

I searched the board through google(ghetto), but didnt see anything... If you have the link it would be very much appreciated.

If no link, think of this as an update to the old, after all I think the not being to register your vehicle is relatively new.

red light camera tickets happen all the time in a lot of cities. they are legal, they are normal, you have to pay them (or at least deal with them through the legal system)

edit: I haven't gotten one, but a lot of my friends have... pretty much everyone I know has just paid them. Not worth the hassle to them

I got one before. I accidently ran a red light in my car but it was registered under my moms name at the time. Since it showed the vehicle was registered under mum and she wasn't driving they waived the ticket.

So what you're saying is you went to court and told them my mom wasn't driving I was, and they didn't give you the ticket? I don't know sounds too simple. But if your telling the truth where did you go or who did you call and how long ago?

I live in Portland, OR so the laws might be different. On the ticket they sent to me they had a picture of me in the car. I think there was like 3 options.

    A) Either pay the ticket. B) Contest it in court. C) There was an option that said if you were not the driver of the registered vehicle then sign here ________

This was about a year and a half ago. Read all the info they sent you to see if you have that same option C that I did. If not call the DMV and find out.

Keep ignoring the letters and maybe they will forget about it.

Let us know how that works out.

Send them a drawing of a spider as a form of payment.

Anyone have a link to that thread?
