I'm looking for somewhere in Houston to recycle Styrofoam. I'm building about 70 computers this week, and I've got a TON of styrofoam. It all has the recycle symbol on it, so I assume it is recyclable, but I can't find anywhere in town that will take it. I have found homes for the rest of the stuff, but not for that. Any ideas? I asked at the computer recycling place and they didn't know. I also read online that Houston Foam Plastics recycles Styrofoam, but I called the main office and they said talk to this other office and then I called there and she deferred to the main office . . . Any ideas? I hate to throw all of it in the dumpster. I can recycle the boxes and some of the plastic bags, but the styrofoam eludes me . . .
http://texas.earth911.org/usa/master.asp?s=ls&a=Recycle&cat=1 This is a good list of recycling places for lots of things. You'll find Styrofoam sites listed under polystyrene, but I couldn't find anything closer than Brenham.
www.foamrecycling.com No, seriously, that IS a website (it's located in Indiana, though ) You can take that stuff to most mailboxes etc locations and they'll recycle it for you... http://www.mbe.com/ps/et.html

Thanks guys. I finally found a place in Dallas that will do it. I've called everyone on those lists. Many of them won't do it or the numbers don't work any more. There is supposedly one other place here that will do it, but the guy I need to talk to hasn't been there. BTW, these are styrofoam blocks that go with computers. Packing peanuts would've been great b/c everyone will take those, but no one wants styrofoam blocks. If anyone knows of anywhere else, I'd be grateful!
