I'm watching the game from B/CS and they didn't show player intros. Anyone with info on "the Franchise" reception this year please respond.

Hopefully, it was a positive experience. :D

As much of a "knuclehead" he may have been at times, he was still a classy guy.

"He was a knucklehead, but very classy". That's what Aristotle once said

It was actually a quite reception (unlike last year when he got a standing ovation). Some people cheered and a few even booed (I am not sure why). During the game it seemed like more ppl joined in on the booing whenever he touched the ball.

I also heard the boos during the introductions. It might be because of his arrogance in saying that he built Toyota Center. They continued booing, including myself, because everytime Francis made a shot he showboated to the crowd.

No, dummy, Socrates said that. Then they made him drink hemlock and now he's dead. :(

I'm glad the days of Steve Francis are over.

He did NOTHING for this team.

There were boos for Francis when he touched the ball, and during the intro. There were also some cheers, but the boos were louder. There were also some boos for Cato. When they showed Moochie on the jumbo screen there were even some boos for him, and he's still on our team. It just goes to show you that many fans liked nothing about the old rockets squad.

Last night he was pissing me off, because it was such a close game, last season I didn't really care, because the Rockets were blowing them out. That's probably how the crowd felt too.

I'm not saying the guy didn't have heart, but can you truthfully tell me how much success we had with him. I'm also not saying that it was entirely his fault.

I'm not going to get into a Steve bashing fight, but that guy drove me nuts.

    That's just me though.

that's fine but this team wasn't terrible when he was here, he was surrounded by mediocre talent at best and the team was mediocre. I'm not going to get into specifics either but they weren't terrible.

He drove practically all of us nuts but that doesn't mean we shouldn't show some class towards him now that he's not playing for us. This guy loved playing for Houston and even though he's wearing a different uniform we can at least admire his love for this city.

Cassel won two championships in his first two years and was a class act never said he built anything etc. Steve deserves the boos he is a selfish player that needed to be traded.

I've also noticed a somewhat different tone from the Chronicle. They seem to have gravitated more toward the common wisdom of this board in criticizing Francis for not playing smart when he was a Rocket. I was surprised by it because I think the Chron had previously been more reserved in their opinions of him.

I’m sure playing with the best player in the league helped Sam a little on those championships. You also do realize that Dream complained of his selfishness.
