Well I have to say that when I logged on today and read Doc's post, it scared the hell outa me! Don't get me wrong im not against improving our team but if we are trading away the conference starting pg for a draft pick I have concerns. We just got back to the Playoffs im not ready to sit them out again. IMO if we are going to get rid of an allstar we need to recieve one. With that draft pick who knows what were getting. Im hopin that stud PF everyone is crying for doesnt turnout to be a Kwame Brown. Who knows what we get with that pick. Why does this trade have to go down before the draft anyhow? I would much rather wait and see what FA's re up, see who is available before we start trading. If this were the NFL and you could just go out and add a player I dont think it would be such a gamble. However, we dont even know how the chips are gonna fall. If we make this trade we are back to, well not square one, but we are gonna now have to re evaluate what kind of team it is we have and what pieces we need. At the current status quo we know (think we know) what it is we are missing. One of the main concerns is the turnovers. Would either of these deals improve that area. Only by ridding ourselves of Steves passing but at the same time look at the intangibles that we are going to loose. I just don't want to jump the gun on this deal and I hope that the brass doesnt feel like they need to jump the gun on this thing and make a deal. I hope we play this thing out right. I hated falling out of the playoffs in the first round but it sure beats the hell out of sitting them out!
Thats what I was thinking if we trade Francis for Draft picks then we lose on that trade even the Raptors trade is horrible we would get 2 subpar players we might as well keep Steve if we can't find or make a reasonable trade (T-Mac, Kobe,A.I., Brand) those are the only guys I would trade for. but if we did do the deal with Toronto Vince Carter would have to be in the deal. Alvin Williams Steve Francis Vince Carter Chris Bosh Kelvin Cato ^^^^^ thats a sick lineup
The Rockets remind me of the SUNS of 2 years ago. Young team with a talented PG and a young Big man who make the playoffs for the first time in a while and challenge the eventual champions (SPurs) and the next season completely tear up the team and start all over. I really hope this doesn't happen b/c all we need is a decent PF who can bang the boards and score when needed. Peace.
i say give this team another year. If they pass 1st round of playoff, give them another year. If they get 50+ wins, give them another year. If they do not meet any of those 2 requirements, rebuild.
"If we stay pat we get left behind." Those are Dawson quotes. So get ready, this summer their will be changes.
