It is inevitable that he will get a great Chinese nickname that will involve a dragon. Even just "The Dragon" would be a badass nickname.

First, there has never been a human being that looked as much like a dragon as Chris Bosh. Second, the Chinese love dragons. Third, dragons are powerful, lucky and all that.

Finally, no NBA player has ever had "Dragon" in their nickname. So, it would be original. And, Bosh doesn't have a worthy nickname in place. I know this sounds like a minor reason, it is #126, but a great nickname is essential for legendary basketball players.

I agree with everything but the truth being a legend. I don't know of any legends being on a team that goes 24-58

The Dragon works for Don Wilson (former champion Kickboxer, B-Movie star), Ricky Steamboat (great wrestler for the NWA, WWF, and WCW), and Ryoto Machida (UFC).

That name does not fit Chris Bosh in the least sense, I would choose another reptile or lizard.

This thread wins because it brings attention to the fact that no one has had a dragon nickname. What a shame. We need to fix this!

This was discussed during the Beijing Olympics...

Bosh's Chinese nickname is Long Wang, which translates to "King of the Dragons", referring to him being the leader of the Raptors.

If he is traded to Houston, it will probably be something like "Long haired sidekick", which would be incredibly appropriate.

    Isn't a dragon a reptile?

That looks close enough to a dinosaur to me. ;)

A few years ago, I would have been giddy at the thought of Bosh as a Rocket. Now, I'm not so keen on gutting our team to acquire him. If he plays, there is no room for Scola or Hill. Bosh is not a center so he really is not a good substitute for Yao Ming. He is very expensive but scarcely provides any more points, rebounds, steals, blocks or assists than Scola. Hill also constitutes greater value than Bosh when salary versus production are compared.

I hope Morey makes noise over Bosh so that some other team overpays for Bosh leaving the Rockets a better shot at a FA with a good production to salary ratio.
