Everyone says they don't watch them, but if you watch TV for more than a few hours a week, you really can't avoid them. And there are actually some decent ones out there amongst all the tripe. Top Chef - One of my favorites. I liked the Masters one they did this summer because it was with actual chefs instead of the wanna-be's on the regular show. But any show with Padma is a good thing. Gail Simmons ain't bad either. Survivor - I only watched the 1st season and the last season. Wish I would've watched it more because it's really well done. The Amazing Race – Similar to Survivor in that it’s really well done, except for the fact that, no matter when they start, they always end up on the same flight. The challenges are always original and entertaining. I like how they incorporate the culture of wherever they are into each challange. Big Brother – This one is criticized a lot, mostly by people who’ve never watched. I like all the mind games involved.
The Colony. That's about it. I used to watch Flavor of Love, etc. but my better side won't let me anymore.
none... On principle I can't watch them... they take away timeslots from the scripted shows that I love. Though I will say that I don't consider any shows on TLC or the Travel channel "reality shows" so I will watch things like the Cake contest show (who's name I can't remember) and home makeover type shows.
TUF - got off it for awhile but Rampage, Kimbo and the fact they are doing the HWs is making me watch this season. Hope they find someone to beat Brock. That is all I can think of.
+1 I really love the TLC, Food Net, Discovery reality shows because it's not about the ego and looks of the contestants it's about the world around them mostly. Well except for that Jon and Kate + eight. I hate that show.
Something on Discovery Channel or History Channel would be the only "reality" shows I'd probably watch.
I hate to say this but I get addcited to VH1 junk way to easily such as Real Chance, Tool Academy etc... but thanks to HBO shows like True Blood and Entourage it keeps me clean for the most part. I will say that so far I kinda like the new Eddie Griffin show pretty funny stuff.
Don't forget the Travel Channel. No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain -- best show on TV (now that Arrested Development is off the air).
There's some shows on Food Network I'll watch now and then (Next Food Network star, Chopped, Throw Down). I did watch a few seasons of Big Brother a couple years ago (the one with Evel Dick and then the season after that).
I'm watching Alaskan Brown Bears wake up from their 7 month naps right now. Far more entertaining than human beings consciously aware they are on television and acting like imbeciles.
I love Discovery and History channel... Anyway, I usually watch Biggest Loser, LA Ink and Housewives of Atlanta (I know, I know but I can't help it. I love watching train wrecks.)
I watch no reality shows ... none ... ever. I have been in a room with American Idol on in the background and that is the closest I have come. I am not even sure that AI even counts as a reality show.
I absolutely do not watch a single one. I hate them all. If nothing is on tv, I will put in a dvd or watch reruns of good shows on other channels. There is never not enough on TV to force me to watch a reality show.
IMO, there are no true reality shows. When has someone actually had to survive in Survivor? Is CBS just going to let them die out there? They're all scripted in one form or another. That Anthony Bourdain show is kind of cool, so I'll watch it if my wife has it on.
