thats nice and all but they dont have the rockets making the wcf which shows you how much the regular season predictions mean
i agree with, like, 88% of the rankings/predictions. the exceptions: - i believe Charlotte will end up with a better record than ATL. - there's NO WAY that the Knicks end up better than Boston. - Roy, not Tyrus Thomas, will be ROY. - based on their rankings, the Suns cannot beat the Spurs in the Western Finals, b/c they'd face them in the Western Semis. the brackets would be 1-8-4-5 on one side, and 2-7-3-6 on the other. if the Suns make it to the Western Finals, they'll be facing us. - i strongly doubt that Barbosa will get the 6th man award. c'mon, seriously?
Minny would be tops in its division, so they automatically get one of the top 3 seeds. but if they ended up playing Dallas or SA in the playoffs, and Minny had a worse record, then they'd be the road team, regardless of their #3 seeding.
But they changed the rules in August. The top FOUR teams get ranked by record to gaurantee that the 2 best records cannot meet until the conf finals. Thus, for Dallas or SA to be ranked 4th & 5th, 3 teams would have to have better records. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2537369
predictions are all bull...we all know how we ended up after being predicted to be the 4th seed last year...injuries u say?..well whats the guarantee that it won't happen this year? so lets just pray and hope everyone stays healthy and that we will have a good season. i can care less about seeding as long as we make it to the finals.
I'll read it later, but if they picked Tyrus Thomas for ROY, I wonder if they read Scott Skiles comments about trying to get him out of "jogging gear". From what I've read about him, Thomas still sounds like the 2nd coming of Stromile Swift. Right now, he makes just enough spectacular plays to stay out of the doghouse and certainly is nowhere near any track for ROY.
none o fthese predictions or rankings are ever right. SI, ESPN, RealGM, CBS Sportsline, Yahoo.... they can all give you the same info i would.
JIM O'Brien: I think the Houston Rockets are going to be very, very good. They will almost be the caliber of the Spurs and the Mavs. They are putting together a good group and it is not out of the realm of possibility that they could be in the Finals. -On the dark hourse of the league
it funny... every time a team has a breakout year - it's always said that "no one predicted it" then, someone makes some bold predictions and people think they are idiots. turth is, EVENTUALLY San Antonio will fall...
** These are clearly not rankings, just listings of the 8 playoff teams. ** You can tell because they go in order of the divisions and in the order that he mentioned them before.
