This is my dream trade for this offseason but it'll never happen . Although its interesting it was accepted. I'm a big Steve Nash fan. I think Antawn Jamison has as much energy as Cato and has hops to make up for his size. Anyways I'm just throwing it in the air. Not like it gonna happen but I can dream. Washington trades: PF Kwame Brown SG Larry Hughes PG Gilbert Arenas Washington receives: C Kelvin Cato (6.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.3 minutes) PG Steve Francis (16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg in 40.4 minutes) Houston trades: C Kelvin Cato PG Steve Francis Houston receives: PG Steve Nash (14.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 8.9 apg in 76 games) SF Antawn Jamison (14.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 0.9 apg in 80 games) Dallas trades: PG Steve Nash (14.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 8.9 apg in 33.6 minutes) SF Antawn Jamison (14.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 0.9 apg in 29.0 minutes) Dallas receives: PF Kwame Brown (10.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.5 apg in 74 games) SG Larry Hughes (19.0 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.4 apg in 59 games) PG Gilbert Arenas (19.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 5.1 apg in 53 games) Change in team outlook: +20.7 ppg, +8.1 rpg, and -0.8 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA. Due to Washington, Houston, and Dallas being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Washington, Houston, and Dallas had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
I don't see why either Washington or Dallas does this deal, except for the fact that they both have either sucked or underperformed with the current roster...but that is impetus for doing a deal, not any old deal. I'm all for getting Nash on the roster, mind you.
Cuban isnt going to trade Steve Nash for an immature point guard, a number 1 pick with who seems to be a bust and a journey man guard.
i disagree with bust. i think you're going to see the second coming of jermaine o'neal in that it's going to take 4 or 5 seasons for Kwame Brown to come into his own. But he will be good. Meanwhile... Nash and Jamison and Yao? Where do I sign up?
Washington won't want that trade, but Dallas would definitely think hard about it. Kwame Brown is getting better day by day. He is very good defensively right now. He just needs to be confident on offense. But why would Washington take SF for Arenas for the same type of player but cost more money? and also give up Kwame ?
I dont know why Washington would want Francis since Arenas and Francis are almost the same type of player, but isnt Steve from washington? But besides the point it was just my dream trade. I like Nash alot and if the planets align right it would be sweet, maybenot this deal.
honestly i think the best fits for us would be Francis for Tj Ford and DMason.. Tj is a true pg.. Dmason is a disgusting athlete.. if you could do this would you??
We all know how much of a great shooter T.J. is and since most people feel the Rockets point guard should be able shoot, then he seems like a perfect fit. Or maybe you just went to UT.
I would stick with Francis if I had a choice of Francis or Ford. Tj is a good player but he doesnt have a jumpshot. Good playmaker, dribble penetration, but no jumpshot. We'de still be in the same boat I think. And if you think about if you trade for TJ you give up Francis' decent rebounding. One thing about Francis (knock him all you want ) but he is exceptional at rebounding for his position which is pg (cringe).
I just read an article that Seattle really wants Chandler or Kwame Brown this offseason, and is willing to part with Lewis. So.... Houston Trades: Steve Francis Kelvin Cato 2nd round draft pick Houston Recieves: J. Crawford R. Lewis 1st round draft pick Seattle Trades: Rashard Lewis Seattle Recieves: Tyson Chandler 2nd round draft pick Chicago Trades: Tyson Chandler J. Crawford Chicago Recieves: Steve Francis Kelvin Cato
gucci, you got a link to that article? Your trade proposal's interesting , but none of the salaries add up. Chicago's not under the cap, as far as I can tell, and can't absorb Cato's big contract and Francis' max salary while only giving up Chandler and a re-signed Crawford no matter how much Crawford is signed for.
During the trade moratorium between the February trade deadline and the July signings, RealGM is incorrect. It is using the 2003-04 salaries which no longer apply. Case in point...Nash is a restricted FA who if traded could become BYC if he receives a SnT contract greater than $6.9m. And Cuban's not trading him anyway...he's the glue that holds the team together.
And arenas is about 30 million dollars cheaper. These sports franchises are still businesses, you know (Unless you're Cuban).
"The Sonics will surely contact Chicago to inquire about Tyson Chandler and Washington to gauge how strongly the Wizards are enamored with Kwame Brown. Assuming Ray Allen, Seattle's leading scorer and lone All-Star, is untouchable, then Lewis is the top bargaining chip. " http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2001901112_soni12.html Ya, the trade salaries don't match up, but I'm sure there are some fillers Chicago and Seattle could throw in to match it up. I know Chicago has been trying to get rid of Eddie Robinson for a while because of his contract.
I'm pretty sure they aren't talking about a straight up trade, but Seattle is really desperate for a PF.
