CReina makes me happy has a lot of good to say about the rockets, apparently feels that the bulls are our biggest competition, and that if noah is off limits in a trade to toronto, then houston has the best shot at getting bosh (assuming it is true he prefers S&T)
To say nothing of how questionable a source RealGM is, where's the link? I actually feel like I can use some good news just about now...
Question about a s&t. If Bosh wants to come to Houston, but we don't want to give up what Toronto wants, we don't have a trade, correct? So in this case, Toronto has the final say in a s&t.?
Good news! But makes sense, Morey said he would make 30 more million through sign and trade, that is why I had Rockets as second favorites to land Bosh. I don't know what Nets have to work with a sign and trade. Miami has like a 15 mill trade exception I heard, Chicago would have to give up Noah which would force Bosh to be their center and the Bulls don't want to trade Noah as mentioned.
news flash, teams with cap space can also opt for a sign & trade. of course he'd prefer that. he gets more money.
I posted this earlier in another thread. It's just his opinion on what he's heard. Doesn't say at all that we have the best chance. CR_Reina on Twitter (newest from top to bottom)
wow. I wonder, is that it? None of our young guys included? That would leave us pretty thin at small forward, hope budinger would be ready to star. We would also still have jeffries expiring contract if we wanted to make one more move, plus the MLE....
Doesn't it make sense now why we are after Brad Miller as well chicago's other center? Bosh doesn't want to play center and if it is a sign and trade Noah would be part of it......Morey!!!! Gotta love it.
Its interesting: Is the Bosh team using a possible Houston trade to put pressure on the other teams to improve their S&T offer? Or is the Bosh team using a possible CHI/MIA/NYK/NJN signing to put pressure on Toronto to accept a S&T with Houston? Two ways to look at it, and obviously I hope the latter (theory from Carl Herrera) is what's going on.
Not sure how the Bosh's camp would want to pressure CHI/MIA/NYK/NJN into improving S&T offers... I mean, wouldn't that force these teams to further deplete themselves (either for the current year or in the future, if the offer includes picks) and result in Bosh (+ Wade or Lebron) having to play with a scrubbier set of players?
I agree with this assessment. Both Bosh and Houston media are downplaying the likelihood of Bosh-to-Houston, suggesting there may be something in the second scenario. Also, recent reports that Houston may be pursuing Amare may have the additional effect of pressurizing Bosh & the Raptors.
That's pretty much what it boils down to. Is Bosh using the Rockets to leverage a better deal from the other teams, or is he using the other teams as a bailout plan so the Raptors will HAVE to deal with the Rockets? Like Carl Herrera said, the first option doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a BASKETBALL standpoint because he's forcing his future employers to gut themselves even further to ensure HIS payout, whereas in the second scenario, the Rockets CLEARLY have the depth to withstand losing 2-3 contributing players in any potential deal. I'm hoping that Bosh's camp is smart about this, and that Houston really and truly is a leading candidate for his services, because there really isn't a better place for him to come and play winning basketball.
